Student attacked in suspected hate crime on San Jose State University campus

(KRON) — A San Jose State University student was assaulted on campus on the morning of Feb. 7 in a suspected hate crime, a university spokesperson told KRON4 News. Multiple people are thought to have assaulted the student in a “hate-motivated attack targeting the victim’s religious identity,” the university spokesperson said. As of Friday afternoon, no arrests have been made in the case. SUV crashes into Santa Rosa grocery store, 6 injured “Hate crimes are evil acts that harm entire communities and have no place in our community, nor anywhere that seeks to uphold the values of knowledge, understanding and peace,” an SJSU spokesperson said. “We appreciate all who have already reached out in support of the student as well as impacted students, faculty, and staff.” Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the SJSU Police Department.
