Nothing tops the Flossy Posse. Dina, Sasha, Lisa, and Ryan are chaotic, loyal, hilarious, and real. From wild party moments to vulnerable conversations, their bond feels authentic, the kind of friendship that survives misunderstandings and grows stronger because of them. If your Galentine’s vibe is loud, funny, and slightly unhinged (in the best way), press play. Oh, and if your best friends aren’t backing you up in a dance battle, then are you really best friends?

If you’ve ever dreamed big with your best friend, this one’s for you. Mia and Shawna reunite after high school to form a rap duo and chase stardom together. The show dives into social media, sexuality, ambition, and authenticity, all while showing what it really means to build something from the ground up with your day one. Watch this, and you just might start plotting your own empire.

Michelle Buteau’s charisma alone makes this worth the watch. This body-positive series follows a plus-size Black woman as she navigates life, love, and career in New York City after an unexpected breakup. It’s joyful, messy, affirming, and full of heart. Add in the friendship dynamics and fun cameos, and you’ve got the perfect feel-good Galentine’s binge.

“Maybe it’s really rough… maybe it’s had enough.” Few shows leave me in my feelings the way Insecure does, because Issa DID THAT. From friendships and relationships to career struggles and social issues, nothing was off limits. Issa and Molly’s friendship feels painfully real, the love, the tension, the growth. And if my best friend ever made a rap about me in public like Issa did Molly? We’re fighting on sight… then making up the next day of course.

“My girlfriendsssss, there through thick and thin.” This theme song will never not be a vocal stim of mine. This show is the blueprint for Black friendship on TV. Joan, Maya, Lynn, and Toni each represent a different version of womanhood, and somehow, we’ve all been at least one of them. It’s funny, dramatic, and deeply relatable. If you’re spending Galentine’s Day in, this cult classic deserves a rewatch.

Jilly from Philly brings the energy every single time. She’s a little bougie in this one, but still absolutely my girl. The series follows three best friends since college as they reclaim their lives after feeling stuck and unfulfilled. Through divorces, breakups, and career pivots, their loyalty never wavers. It’s the ultimate girls-girl show that will have you smiling at the way these women ride for each other. Pour the wine and text your best friend; this one’s a must-watch.

ANGELA BASSETT DID THE THING. This film is about rediscovery, friendship, and allowing yourself to want more, even when life feels stagnant. Stella’s Jamaican reset is the reminder we all need that it’s never too late to choose yourself. A soft, grown, reflective Galentine’s pick. Watch this film to feel inspired to GET YOUR GROOVE BACK!

“He’s a good man, Savannah, A GOOD MAN!” The dramatics. The heartbreak. The friendship. Featuring an all-star cast, this Galentine’s essential follows four women leaning on each other through love, betrayal, and life’s curveballs. And yes, Angela Bassett walking away from that burning car will forever be iconic. I will dress up as her for Halloween if it's the last thing I do. Wine and commentary strongly encouraged.

The way I get emotional the second I hear “Day after day…” They did NOT have to do Cleo like that. This cult classic explores sisterhood under pressure as four friends try to change their circumstances by any means necessary. It’s intense, emotional, and unforgettable—a reminder that loyalty sometimes runs deeper than fear. Prepare to feel everything DEEPLY.

The 2012 remake hits every emotional note. Watching Queen Latifah balance strength and vulnerability in this story of women holding each other up through life and loss? Tears are falling from my eyes. Literally. It’s a beautiful reminder that sisterhood isn’t just about laughs, it’s about showing up when things fall apart. You will cry, but honestly, is it even Galentine’s Day if you’re not crying with your friends?
