A shell-shocked and wide-eyed Andrew Mountbatten Windsor was photographed leaving Aylsham Police Station in Norfolk, England, on the evening of Thursday, February 19 — just hours after his arrest stunned the royal family. In the newly released images, per Page Six, the disgraced royal — who turned 66 on the day of his arrest — sat rigidly in the backseat of a dark vehicle, his eyes reflecting red from the camera flash as he stared straight ahead. At one point, he appeared to sink lower into the seat as the car pulled away. A driver and an unidentified man were seated in the front. The arrest came earlier that morning at Sandringham Estate, where Andrew had been staying. As the National Enquirer previously reported, authorities arrived around 8 a.m. local time in multiple unmarked vehicles to conduct their investigation. It has been reported that both of Andrew’s residences in Norfolk and Berkshire were searched, per the BBC. Andrew, Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II’s third child, was taken into custody on suspicion of misconduct in public office tied to allegations he shared confidential trade documents during his time as a British envoy. The arrest centers on his past association with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died behind bars in 2019 at age 66. Meanwhile, King Charles III issued a stern statement regarding his younger brother’s arrest on February 19. “Let me state clearly: the law must take its course,” said the monarch. “As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all.” Andrew has denied all wrongdoing.
