McDonald’s CEO Roasted After Awkward Taste Test Of New Burger

A promo for McDonald’s newest dish is making people wonder whether the company’s CEO has ever actually eaten fast food. In a video posted back at the beginning of February but only now going viral, burger boss Chris Kempczinski shows off the chain’s new Big Arch sandwich during a taste test that includes the tiniest nibble possible. “I love this product. It is so good,” he says while dramatically marveling at the sandwich, which features a pair of quarter-pound patties, crispy onions, white cheddar cheese, toasted sesame and poppy seed bun and its signature “Big Arch” sauce. “Oh, there’s so much going on with this,” Kempczinski coos as he picks up his lunch like a piece of fine china. “I don’t even know how to attack it, it’s got so much to it!” Declaring the “moment of truth,” the restaurant exec takes the daintiest of bites and savors the mouthful with an emphatic “Mmmm.” Though Kempczinski called his peck a “big bite for a Big Arch,” people online were thoroughly perplexed by his microscopic munching. Some called the video “dystopian,” while others said it seems like the CEO was an “alien” encountering a cheeseburger for the first time. Fellow fast food joint Wendy’s seemed to send Kempczinski some serious side eye in a comment that said, “Lots to unpack here.” The Instagram account for Mini Cooper cars joked that, “Gonna start test driving our cars 1 metre at a time.” Cake creator and influencer Jonny Manganello, AKA TheJonnyCakes, commented on how the video seemed like, “Me, age 10, when my parents told me to eat my veggies.” Mickey D’s archrival Burger King capitalized on the cringe-inducing content with a TikTok of Tom Curtis, the president of U.S. & Canada operations, taking a hearty chomp of a Whopper that left smears of sauce on his face. “Not bad, right?” a voice off-camera asks, Chuckling, Curtis told them, “Only one thing missing: a napkin.” McDonald’s is billing their Big Arch as a “more ketchup-forward” burger with a tangy “western”-style sauce, instead of the iconic Big Mac’s sweeter “secret sauce.” The sandwich launched on March 3 and only be available for a limited time.
