“Only Murders in the Building” star Selena Gomez stunned fans this week by sharing a rather intimate display of affection toward her husband, producer Benny Blanco. On Tuesday’s episode of the “Friends Keep Secrets” video podcast, Gomez kissed Blanco’s foot as the pair discussed their romance with co-hosts Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco. Blanco appeared to be briefly caught off guard before slyly asking his pals, “You like that?” “Oh, don’t make it a moment!” Gomez replied as she playfully slapped her husband’s leg. Catch Tuesday’s episode of “Friends Keep Secrets” below. Gomez can be seen kissing Blanco’s foot around the 48:10 mark. Despite Gomez’s request, viewers very much made it a “moment” on social media. “choosing to believe this is AI generated to preserve my sanity,” one person wrote on X. Added another: “That’s one way to keep the romance toe-tally alive! Who’s got the weirder couple quirks?” Others, however, suggested the move wasn’t that unusual among committed couples. “People in relationships doing people in relationships things being news is really funny Selena likes Benny how he is, that’s why they’re married,” one person wrote. Divisive takes aside, Gomez’s on-camera gesture was auspiciously timed. On the premiere episode of “Friends Keep Secrets,” which aired last week, Blanco ignited an online frenzy when he propped his legs up on a sofa, revealing his bare feet to be covered in dirt. At one point during the episode, he also audibly farted. Those who focused solely on Gomez’s foot smooch, however, missed a surprisingly sweet discussion about her marriage to Blanco. The couple wed last September after about two years of dating. “I want her to shine and be her own independent woman. So I try so hard,” Blanco explained on Tuesday’s episode. “I use every bone in my body not to be googly-eyed over her and not want to kiss her and jump her bones all the time.” Gomez also described their relationship as “one of the greatest things of life.” From the sounds of it, fans who continue to tune into “Friends Keep Secrets” can look forward to more unscripted moments in the weeks ahead. The show is billed as “an intimate hang,” that showcases its hosts’ “real-life friendships” with guests like Gwyneth Paltrow and Ed Sheeran, that is equal parts “podcast, livestream, and sitcom.” Whether it will wow critics, however, is another story. Shortly after Tuesday’s episode was unveiled, New York Magazine’s Vulture blog deemed it “a must-watch in the most derogatory sense of the word.” By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
