Winter weather is making more pain for central Ohio motorists.

Snow and high winds across the region have prompted several counties in the state to declare snow emergencies, including Union County, according to Dispatch news partner NBC4.

Franklin County had not declared a snow emergency by 10:30 p.m. on March 16, but several other counties had. According to NBC4, these counties were under a Level 1 emergency:

Athens County

Coshocton County

Guernsey County

Hocking County

Jackson County

Morgan County

Muskingum County

Noble County

Pike County

Ross County

Union County

Vinton County

Additionally, multiple accidents across the area have caused delays or road closures, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Those include:

All lanes on I-270 southbound beyond Tuttle Crossing Boulevard are closed because of a crash.

All lanes on Ohio 315 southbound beyond North Broadway are closed because of a crash.

The outer lanes are closed on I-270 northbound collector beyond Easton Way because of a crash.

Two left lanes are closed on I-71 southbound at 11th Avenue because of a crash.

Other crashes are likely throughout the region and drivers are asked to use caution.

March 16: Temperatures were expected to plummet even further Monday night into the 20s with a feel-like temperature in the single digits.

March 17: Exceptionally cold day expected with snow showers and a high of 28 degrees.

March 18: A chance of rain and snow with temperatures climbing above freezing, but only into the 40s.

March 19: Cloudy with a high of 53 degrees.

March 20: Mostly cloudy with a high of 62 degrees.
