Jon Stewart Uses Hilarious Bit To Mock Trump's Iran Narrative

“Daily Show” host Jon Stewart ripped President Donald Trump on Monday night’s show for his ever-changing narrative surrounding the war in Iran using an “expert panel” of talking heads. “Please welcome to the program, President Donald Trump, Donald J. Trump, DJT and John Barron,” Stewart said while featuring a “panel” of various clips of the president under different names. Stewart asked the “panel” to clear up any confusion about whether the United States is, in fact, at war with Iran, then played various clips of Trump contradicting himself. “This was just an excursion into something that had to be done,” Donald J. Trump said. “This is an excursion, a little excursion, and I think it’s only that,” President Donald Trump said. “We’re winning the war by a lot,” Trump’s alter ego John Barron said. “So it’s a war?” Stewart asked. “Because earlier we heard President Trump and Donald Trump say it’s an excursion, not a war.” “It’s both, it’s an excursion that will keep us out of a war,” DJT said. “Alright, DJT, it’s both a war and an excursion that will stop the war that it isn’t,” an exasperated Stewart replied. The “Daily Show” host used the same bit to hit on a number of other contradictions Trump has landed himself in over the course of the now three-week war, including how long the conflict will last and the war’s objectives. Stewart then interrupted the “panel” to hear from “Don from Palm Beach,” where Trump said the war will end “when I feel it in my bones.” Stewart ended the bit by giving a heartfelt speech about the costs of war and the great decisions that fall on the shoulders of world leaders – then showed clips of the Trump “panel” falling asleep, one by one.
