Man who died after car plunged into Bay in Sausalito Monday identified

(KRON) — Firefighters responded to a call about a vehicle that was submerged in water in Sausalito on Monday. There were two individuals inside a white Mercedes-Benz before first responders found it 10 feet underwater. One was medically evaluated at the scene, and the other was taken to the hospital, where they later died. The latter has been identified as 76-year-old Brian Thayer Mullins of Sausalito, according to the Marin County Coroner. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, and toxicology tests will be conducted, the coroner’s office said. The Marin County Coroner’s Office did not release the specific cause of death. Water was seen still dripping out of the luxury vehicle. According to officials, one firefighter was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
