"My cousin blew off my wedding because he won concert tickets on the radio for the same day." I'm a New York City-based Staff Writer who enjoys covering lifestyle, relationships, and women's content. "I cried for like two days, then said 'good riddance.' We didn't speak for years, and they divorced after about two years. I've been married for 18 years. We are also back to non-speaking terms, so he just isn't who I thought he was as a father figure anyway. Just gotta know when to cut your losses on these things. It's usually a sign that the relationship isn't healthy or worth the energy." "The morning of the wedding, my daughter (the bride) came up to me crying. She had gotten an email from the girlfriend saying her grandfather wasn't attending because he was 'sick.' She was very obnoxious, and he was a mouse. He did what she wanted and hurt his granddaughter because her NAME wasn't on the invitation envelope. He never married her!" "Also, my dad has two older sisters who do not get along. Sister #1 RSVPed early and got a hotel. Sister #2 RSVPed late and couldn't find a hotel, so my dad offered for sister #2 to stay at his house. This also resulted in sister #2 being invited by my dad to the rehearsal dinner since she was sleeping at my dad's house, and it was a limited attendance. Sister #1 heard that sister #2 was at the rehearsal dinner and got pissed, so she checked out of her hotel and started her six-hour drive home, only to turn around about an hour into the trip to try to check back in, but the hotel had given her room away. So she then went home. I didn't get the full story until MUCH later." "Another couple was coming from the same neighborhood where this friend lived, but she didn't want to ride with them; if I wasn't going to pick her up at the train and have her stay as a houseguest with us all weekend, she wasn't going to attend. So she didn't. Sometimes people are just weird." "Life went on, then I finally met his bride a year later and joked about the 'sharing a wedding date' thing, and she had no idea what I was talking about. She didn't pick the date; his family did. I'm still friends with them all to this day, and no one talks about it. It's like it never happened. They got divorced a year or two after this, and he never remarried. So weird."
