Time is running out for someone who bought a life-changing lottery ticket in South Texas. A jackpot-winning ticket for the Lotto Texas drawing on Nov. 15, 2025, remains unclaimed. It’s set to expire on May 14 if it’s not turned in. The ticket, worth an estimated $78 million annuitized jackpot, was bought at Gordon’s Bait & Tackle at 7066 Padre Island Highway in Brownsville. The person picked their own numbers -- 7, 17, 23, 28, 39 and 48 0 -- and matched all six in the drawing. The cash value option was chosen at the time of purchase, meaning the winner would take home $43,757,223.10 before taxes. So, is it yours and you’ve just been holding on until nearly the last minute? If so – and you want your winnings -- you have to call the Texas Lottery to schedule an appointment, then show the ticket in person at lottery headquarters at 1801 Congress Ave. in Austin. The deadline to validate the ticket is 5 p.m. Central Time on May 14. Under Texas Lottery rules, a ticket holder has 180 days from the draw date to claim a prize. If the deadline passes, the winnings are forfeited. In some cases, the deadline may be extended for eligible military personnel. Any unclaimed prize money is returned to the state to support programs authorized by the Texas Legislature. Got a news tip or story idea?
