People Are Sharing The Most Forgotten '90s TV Shows

These TV shows were once everywhere, but now they feel weirdly absent from nostalgic conversations. "I LOVED Grace Under Fire!!! I haven't thought about that show in years!" "I remember that show being pretty huge. I was waiting on it to get its nostalgia bump but it never seemed to happen. Maybe it’s got a few years before it happens." "That was a great show. Must see TV for me. I was shocked when it was canceled." "Man, I bring this show up a lot, and not many people remember it. I’m glad I’m seeing it get some love here! I lived for that show." "The DVDs allow you to watch without the laugh track, and boy, does it hit different." "Oh wow, I'd forgotten that one. It's the one about the guy who got a newspaper ahead of time that could tell the future? Cool concept, though maybe better suited to a movie rather than a TV series." "Every once in a while, the theme song still pops into my head when someone mentions VR."—RickLovin1 "Sliders had a great premise and started out really good. Then it was taken over by the Sci-Fi Channel, and they slashed the budget. The last three seasons were pretty bad." "Didn't watch this much, but given how it was both popular and controversial in its day, I'm surprised it's barely mentioned now." "I still watch it, seeing The Golden Girls cameos are always so special. 'Life goes on, and so do we…'" "Loved it — watched with my parents at 10 years old lol. I think quirky little towns with secrets are great for content. Picket Fences did it well!" "Northern Exposure is one of my favorite shows. I miss it." "WOW, that one got yanked out of my deep brain. Haven't thought of that show since I watched it brand new as a kid." "I loved it as a teen, but, yeah, pretty sure none of my friends watched it. I even had a cassette tape of music from the show. Lots of great Motown." "Oh, I LOVED that show. It was so confusing when it went from a big, poor family taking in boarders, to Mom, Dorothy Jane, and SOME of the kids moving in with a rich man and his kids." "Totally remember watching this show! And Stark Raving Mad." "My friend got to be an extra on the show. He was on a rival basketball team that was playing Mr. Cooper's team for a game." "Very forgotten and very amazing. Got this show as a gift for someone in the mid-'00s, at the time, a very expensive DVD set. Picked one up for myself much cheaper a few years later. The show was still so enjoyable. I think the search for the next big/great thing was such a well-timed social commentary on the time the show was made (optimism of early-to-mid-'90s, early internet and dot com days, the Soviet Union recently broke up, the Wall came down a few short years before, etc.), but isn't as easy to appreciate until retrospect and allegory. So this 'retro' show was, in some ways, way ahead of its time." "I loved that show. It was on after Will & Grace on Thursdays." "'IT STINKS!!!' Jon Lovitz is one of my favorite actors from the '90s!" "That show was basically X-Files for kids, and I loved it." "Yes, I remember that it answered the question no one asked: 'What if Star Trek was underwater?'" "Wings was a great show. I was heavily invested in every character. Gave a lot of pretty successful TV actors their start." Note: Some responses have been edited for length and/or clarity.
