Charlamagne Tha God argued that Democrats should be thrilled that Tucker Carlson publicly apologized for “misleading” people about President Donald Trump for one particular reason.

“Democrats got what they need,” the radio host said Wednesday of Carlson’s apology on “The Breakfast Club.” “They should be clipping that up and getting ready to run that in campaign ads for the midterms — and in 2028 — because I don’t think Tucker would ever endorse a Democrat or an independent.”

The political commentator said that Democratic lawmakers should be preparing to use the ousted Fox News host’s apology for “attack ads in all the upcoming elections.”

He continued, “Tucker said he was wrong. Tucker said he misled the people. Y’all should be clipping that up and getting it ready for attack ads in all the upcoming elections because anyone Tucker endorses that’s in opposition to your party, you can just put that clip in campaign ads and say, ‘Are you really going to listen to someone who got it so wrong? Are you really going to listen to someone who got it so wrong before?’”

Charlamagne, born Lenard Larry McKelvey, debated that it “doesn’t matter if [Carlson’s] sincere” about his apology because it likely won’t change his political allegiance, adding, “He’s going to stick to Republicans.”

After mentioning that Carlson was “one of the people who wanted Donald Trump to choose JD Vance as his running mate,” Charlamagne declared that just because Carlson has “soured on Trump,” it doesn’t mean “he’s jumped off the MAGA train.”

Carlson said Monday on his podcast “The Tucker Carlson Show” that he would “be tormented” for “a long time” for supporting Trump and apologized for “misleading” people.

The Trump loyalist, who has become increasingly critical of the president’s policies and war in Iran in recent months, said that he’s “implicated in this for sure” for having campaigned for Trump in the past.

The president told the New York Post earlier this month that he thinks Carlson is “a low-IQ person” who has “absolutely no idea what’s going on” after he was asked about the former Fox News host’s claims that he was moving toward a nuclear war with Iran.
