President Donald Trump’s praise for a hospitalized Rudy Giuliani turned into a rant about the “Radical Left Lunatics” whom he appeared to blame for the ex-Trump lawyer’s condition.

“Our fabulous Rudy Giuliani, a True Warrior, and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City, BY FAR, has been hospitalized, and is in critical condition,” Trump posted to Truth Social on Sunday night. “What a tragedy that he was treated so badly by the Radical Left Lunatics, Democrats ALL — AND HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING! They cheated on the Elections, fabricated hundreds of stories, did anything possible to destroy our Nation, and now, look at Rudy. So sad!”

Details of Giuliani’s emergency were not revealed by his spokesperson.

Trump’s lionization of Giuliani, a polarizing figure who unsuccessfully championed Trump’s lies about the 2020 election, isn’t a shocker. Nor is the president’s attempt to scapegoat the left and other critics.

Last week, he and first lady Melania Trump called again for the removal of Jimmy Kimmel over a throwaway line the talk show host made about the first lady as an “expectant widow” ― days before an alleged assassination attempt on the president.

Last year, Giuliani reached an agreement with Georgia election workers he was found to have defamed when he accused them of fraud. The original lawsuit judgment was $148 million. The actual compensation from the agreement was not disclosed.
