"I said, 'Sir, you have genital warts. No legal brothel will accept you. You can get a full refund downstairs.' I opened the door and waited for him to walk out into the hallway. He stood there for the longest time before pulling his pants up โ€” it was agonizingly awkward. He was going red.ย

I kept it friendly and walked down the stairs after him (THIS IS WHERE IT GETS WORSE). I went to the reception with him and had to stay by his side as the receptionist tried to refund him, but the machine was broken. I had to explain it was a failed health check, and he was even more embarrassed. I was dying inside. Luckily, the receptionist noticed my discomfort and told me to go back to the back room.ย

I watched on the camera as his card was declined (or vice versa). It was a full 10 minutes before he left. It's not the worst experience, but definitely very cringey (we then wiped down everything he touched)."

"I also worked for a bit down the road at Olympic Gardens, not nearly as nice. I have no idea what happened in their weird velvet curtain rooms, but I'm sure it involved STDs. And man, those girls walked out with so much cash in the morning, but they were always broke."

"If the guy was rude, had bad hygiene, or was sketchy, I had the right to just walk away. Surprisingly, I only did that twice. The vast majority were very kind and respectful. My impression was that a lot were closeted gay men who were married to women, just looking to explore their fantasies. They were usually not very experienced and preferred that I take the lead.

I made a lot of money, but only saw a marginal portion of it. The agency got a big cut, so I depended on tips. I had to cover my own supplies and subway travel. I only had one client who tried to play the role of a 'sugar daddy' and lavished me. After a year, I had my fill of it and chose to quit. It was an interesting experience, and I met a lot of nice guys. 8/10 experience, but would not repeat."

"I did service women and married couples, which was often pretty fun. I'd be willing to do it again and maybe even try to disassociate enough that I could see men to get the big bucks, but I don't identify as gay and don't know how healthy that'd be mentally.ย

I was a gangly teenager, and that sold. Sometimes people think that women can't be attracted to underage-looking people, but I absolutely assure you, it's a selling point. I recently started to work out and try to get back into shape, and I might try to revisit the whole sex work thing now that I have a much less nervous view on sexuality. We'll see."
