Rock star Jack White tore into the golden statue of Donald Trump that was unveiled at the president’s Trump National Doral golf course in Miami, Florida, last week.

On Sunday, The White Stripes frontman shared an image on Instagram of the 22-foot statue, which depicts the moment after the assassination attempt on Trump at a 2024 campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The image noted how MAGA Evangelical leaders gathered “to Bless and Dedicate a Gold Statue to Donald Trump.”

White added his own blistering response: “The most frustrating part of modern American life is the attempt to make sense of people who don’t even CARE that they make no sense at all.”

Evangelical pastor Mark Burns led a dedication ceremony for the statue on Wednesday, writing on Threads that he was “deeply honored” to do so.

The statue also drew sharp reactions elsewhere online, with critics arguing America was in the grip of a “cult,” and more.

White has long been a fierce critic of Trump, previously dubbing him “the worst American of all time” and rebuking the use of his music group’s “Seven Nation Army” in a pro-Trump video.
