Promising review: "When I knew I was bringing home a puppy, this was one of the first things I bought, and it is 100% absolutely worth it. I carry this water bottle on almost every single walk and to the dog park — so much so that other people's pups come up to me for hydration, LOL! My puppy has even learned to come up and ask for water when he sees me with this. It's also great for having on hand in the car. It's easy enough to use, you just press the button to dispense water, and if your pup doesn't drink it all, you can press the button to recycle it back inside." —Negesti Kaudo, former BuzzFeed Editor Get it from Amazon for $19.99+ (available in three sizes and five colors). My dog LOVES his treats, and I honestly could devote an entire roundup to just foods he enjoys eating (but I'll save that for another day). If my dog had a ranking of his favorite treats, these would most likely be at the top of the list. He has a sensitive tummy, so we really try to save these for "special" occasions, but then again, look at how cute my dog is — every occasion is special with that adorable face. Anyway, a special occasion to us is defined as post bath, when we have guests over for a holiday, his birthday, etc. Bailey literally knows now which shelf of the pantry these are kept on because as soon as he sees/hears me taking them out, he starts jumping and running around like his life depends on this bone. The best part is that after I give it to him, he runs off to another room in the house so he can enjoy some alone time with his bone, like it's a sacred ritual. It's both hilarious and so stinking cute. If you want to witness pure puppy joy, I highly recommend these treats. Get a pack of 60 from Amazon for $10.99. Promising review: "This little guy has a fluffy exterior, durable rubber interior, and a squeaker so difficult to access I genuinely forget it's there most of the time. It's the holy grail of dog toys, IMHO. It's designed to be destroyed, which I LOVE. After those first few play sessions with the Hare Raiser, the cutesy cover started to fall apart, and I was admittedly bummed (mainly because I only ~skimmed~ the packaging when I first purchased this bad boy, and didn't understand)." —Danica Creahan, BuzzFeed contributor Read the rest of Danica's review of the Bark Super Chewer Hare Raiser toy here! Get it from Amazon for $17.99 (also available in four other styles). Promising review: "My parents adopted a sweet lab mix puppy recently, and I am already spoiling her. (I mean, just look at that face!) Did she absolutely need an avocado toast toy? No. But could I pass it up when I saw it at a local shop? Absolutely not. I think she gives it a stamp of approval, as well. The avocado slices crinkle, and the toast has a squeaker inside, so it really does keep her occupied for a while. Plus, it costs less than the average avocado toast on any menu in NYC." —Abby Kass, BuzzFeed contributor Get it from Amazon for $9.40+ (available in two sizes, four other brunch items, and a brunch set). Back in 2020, my family made a wonderful decision to get an adorable Havanese puppy named Bailey (pictured left as a puppy in 2020, pictured right in December 2023). He slept like an absolute angel the first night we brought him home, so when he kept us up for six. whole. hours the night after, and wouldn't stop crying the next day, we knew we needed to try something fast. A family friend recommended the Snuggle Puppy. Within a half hour of putting the little heart ticker into the stuffed toy and putting it in Bailey's crate, he was quiet and fast asleep while cuddling up to his new toy. Almost six years later, the Snuggle Puppy is still Bailey's favorite toy — we just don't keep the heart ticker in there anymore. He has an entire crate of toys he BARELY touches solely because he loves the Snuggle Puppy so much. It is on the pricey side for a dog toy, and he's currently on his fourth Snuggle Puppy because he's chewed off the ears and noses on the other ones, but seeing how attached he is to the puppy and how happy it makes him, it's 100% worth it. Truly cannot recommend this enough. Get it from Amazon for $39.95+ (available in 13 styles). When I tell you my dog has run from harnesses we've tried in the past. This was the first harness we got for him as a puppy, and once he outgrew that first harness, we tried out different brands/styles. He HATED every other brand/style, even ones that had amazing ratings. Once we got this harness in a larger size for him, he stopped running. In fact, when we walk over to him with this harness, he actually stays still and sometimes even steps into it himself if we put it on the floor in front of him. It has a simple adhesive closure, which is a lot nicer than having to wrestle with buckles and zippers, or whatnot. Get it from Amazon for $10.99+ (available in sizes XXXS–XL and over 20 colors). Promising review: "So effective! This harness is amazing!! First walk today, and we had no pulling, even with squirrels darting in front on the path, and dogs barking and lunging. Wow! 🤩 I never leave reviews, but this one deserves it." —molly gravatt Get it from Amazon for $26.99 (available in sizes S–L and four colors). Promising review: "My dog loves the treats made in this maker, and I love the relative ease and speed. I wasn't too crazy about the included recipes, but I found quit a few good ones online. The online recipes make between 36 and 48 treats at a time — very generous — and use common household ingredients. Since I have a very fussy dog, I'm glad I found this." —Diane Mettam Promising review: "I was skeptical when it first arrived and considered returning. My reason: my doggie didn't seem to know what it was at first 🐕. But in no time at all, she's wild about this goofy ball. I've examined its durability, and she (whose bite force is that of a pitbull) hardly put a mark on it! Man, those goofy sounds it makes 😆, as long as I hear that, I know my doggie is having a blast and keeping occupied." —Julius A.W. Get it from Amazon for $14.99+ (available in four styles). Bailey is, in fact, a scarf-down-his-food-as-fast-as-he-can kinda dog. He LOVES eating, and people food, and he's lucky enough to be on the receiving end of scrambled eggs at breakfast time and chicken at dinner time. Unfortunately, because of how fast he eats said human food, he has coughed/choked after eating (and as his owner who is studying to become an SLP, I am hyper-aware of creating safe eating conditions to prevent coughing and choking — for both humans and my pup). This slow feeder is perfect for when I'm giving him people food (he doesn't scarf down dog food quite the same way). This actually helps slow down the rate at which he's eating, and I have noticed a decrease in his coughing/choking after eating!!! Plus, I think the zig-zags in it make eating feel like a game to him, which is just another fun perk! Get it from Amazon for $6.35+ (available in two sizes and eight colors/styles). Promising review: "I was always concerned about leaving my puppy home alone because he would cry a lot. When I got Furbo, things got much better! Furbo sent me notifications to my phone when he was crying, so I would log on and talk to him right away. This changed everything!! My puppy knows I'm always there, so his separation anxiety is getting better. He cries less, and I feel much more relieved." —Susan Get it from Amazon for $64+ (available in four styles). My dog is very anxious over many things — especially thunderstorms and fireworks. I won't say this jacket completely alleviates him of his anxiety, but it definitely helps!! If your dog is as anxious as mine when it comes to these situations, here is a pro tip: put this jacket on them and then put on some white noise. I discovered this combination for him about a year ago, and it's been golden in significantly reducing the amount of time he spends having an anxiety attack. Now, when the sound of thunder or fireworks goes off, he actually runs to my room where he knows my white noise machine is, I put the ThunderShirt on him, and within about five minutes, he's lying down on my bed and calmed down. Promising review: "This is my first Fourth of July with my rescue dog, and I didn’t know how she was going to react to fireworks. I bought this ahead of time just in case, and I'm so glad I did. She started shaking and panting as soon as they started going off. I put this on her, and she almost immediately stopped trembling, and now she is asleep! I honestly had my doubts that something so simple would work." —weez Get it from Amazon for $39.49+ (available in sizes XXS–XXL and two colors). My dog is very particular about the toys he likes to play with. He's been attached to his Snuggle Puppy since he was a puppy, he enjoys tennis balls, and he LOVES socks (not a toy, but he thinks they are); every other adorable dog toy we have bought for him just sits in his toy crate feeling more abandoned than Andy's toys did when he donated them in Toy Story 3 (or so I imagine). My dog is very food motivated so I was excited for him to try out this toy, and he is a huge fan!!! I'll put a few of his Zuke's mini dog treats into the toy and he'll get to work biting and trying to flip the toy over with his paws to get to the treats. He looks so proud of himself once he gets them. It's the cutest thing. Get it from Fable for $24 (originally $29; available in eight colors). Promising review: "One of my friends’ dogs has this interactive bee toy, and she loves it so much! I was thinking of getting one for my fur niece, and I bought one for her on Christmas, and she is OBSESSED with it! It entertains her a lot, and she even sleeps with one of the bees! Lol! Cutest toy ever!" —Stephy Get it from Amazon for $14.59+ (available in nine styles). Promising review: "I was skeptical because I didn’t understand how the hair would stick to it since the bristles didn’t seems like they would catch hair easily. I was so wrong. I don’t understand the science on why it gets so much hair, but this got SO much hair off my cats. And within just a few minutes of using it." —Amazon Customer Get it from Amazon for $7.99 (available in two colors). Promising review: "This was a huge hit, both of our chocolate labs LIVE for peanut butter. Instead of the yogurt icing, I melted some actual peanut butter in the microwave and used that as icing instead. Chuckie could barely wait for it to bake!" —aim1030 Get it from Amazon for $9.99 (available in three other flavors). As I mentioned, my dog is very picky when it comes to the toys he plays with, and his toy basket remains untouched most days. Last year, I got a PR box sent to me that included a small tennis ball, and Bailey kept trying to take the ball. I let him have it, and he LOVED IT. Since then, we have gotten him several small tennis balls to play with as they've quickly become one of his favorite toys. Not only does he love playing fetch with them, but he also entertains himself with them. He also likes chewing on them (which is why we go through them so often), but the size is small enough that he can fit it in his mouth (just big enough that he won't choke on it), and he gets so excited when he hears the squeak!!! Get them from Target: a pack of five for $5.99 (size XS) or a pack of four for $6.49 (size S). It features a four-sided mesh that will be comfy and breathable for your pup, and make it easy for you to check on them (and allow them to see you)! It also boasts two connecting loop handles for balanced carrying as a dual seat belt or luggage strap, and has a very soft padded bottom. Promising review: "Love this! It is the perfect size for my 6-month-old pet. She loves it just as much and has gone inside to lie in it, which was so cute. The zippers work great! It’s roomy, no weird smell, definitely worth the money for sure! I love how you can open it up three ways! And, not only did they send this carrier, but they also added pet grooming wipes, which is awesome! I highly recommend this bag! I can easily store it in my closet until further use is needed! I can’t wait to take her to her vet appointment so she can get more use out of it. I purchased the bigger version of this so that she can grow into it and I won’t have to buy a bigger one later." —Shauna Wixson Get it from Amazon for $23.48+ (available in two sizes and six colors). Promising review: "Got this for my 24-pound dog, as he usually lies on the concrete patio when we’re all outside, with the sun blazing down on him. Got it set up and didn’t even have to coax him onto it. He loves it! He’s so comfortable and definitely cooler with that canopy over him. It’s also held up well through the heat, rain, and some surprisingly strong windstorms. Definitely recommend." —Prairie Dove Get it from Amazon for $34.99+ (available in three sizes and two colors). Promising review: "My little dog loves this dog puzzle! He has very high energy, and even with two 30-minute walks every day, he can play for hours. We got several different types of dog puzzles, and this one is definitely one of the favorites. I hide several small treats in the mat to engage him for 10+ minutes. Out of all the puzzles, this was the easiest for him to pick up on, but he has yet to get bored with it. He knows when I bring it out, it means treats!" —Jessica Get it from Amazon for $11.98+ (available in seven styles). Promising review: "My English Mastiff (and the biggest baby ever) loves his ducky. He has ripped up other toys, but not his beloved duck. He has had it for a few months now and brings it everywhere around the house with him, even sleeps snuggled up with it. I don't know why dogs seem to love this toy so much, but I would highly recommend purchasing." —Kristen Promising reviews: "This puppy ice cream smells great. I bought the maple bacon flavor for my 4-month Chihuahua, and she loves it. The size of the products is good for small dogs. I give her one scoop because she is tiny. This ice cream is perfect for the hot summer days." —Neryna Cuadrado Get it from Amazon for $8.99+ (available in four flavors). I was lucky to get this dog bed sent to me in 2021 for sampling, and it's still going strong all these years later. While my dog doesn't sleep here at night (he sleeps in a HUMAN bed), he loves this bed for naps during the day!!! On the left, you can see he's just chilling in the bed, and on the right, he's dozing off. While I can't ask my dog directly if he finds this comfortable, the amount of time he spends in this bed means it is Bailey-approved!! Get it from Amazon for $40.56+ (available in four sizes and six colors). Promising review: "We have small dogs with dental issues. After a second cleaning, vet recommended trying these chews. Results amazing! Reduced existing tartar. Clean teeth for two years now. A little pricey, but you avoid vet cost and the risk of sedating your pet. Sometimes the chews are too hard for our Chihuahuas, so I place these in a wet paper towel and microwave for 20 seconds. Let cool and they are good to go." —M. Thomas Promising review: "Our dog loves her Fresh Patch. We were not having much luck training her on a puppy pad, so we decided to try it out, and it actually worked. It took a few days, but now she goes to her Fresh Patch to potty 9 times out of 10." —Miguel Delgado Get it from Amazon for $29.95+ (available in five sizes). These treats were recommended to us when we first got Bailey in 2020, and six years later, we STILL give him these treats because he loves them so much. He is very motivated by these treats (funny enough, he might be more motivated by them as an adult dog than he was as a puppy). If I have one of these in my hand, I can get my dog to sit, give me his paw, lie down, jump up, or even sit still for a photo (if I'm quick enough, at least). We keep them in a dog-themed-looking cookie jar so whenever he hears the lid open, he comes RUNNING over for them. We still reward him after walks/potty breaks/just for being a good boy, and he eats 'em up every time. Get them from Amazon for $9.99+ (available in three sizes). Signing up is super easy!
