Katie Price will be called as a witness when her former husband Kieran Hayler stands trial accused of raping a 13-year-old girl, a court has heard.

Hayler, 39, is charged with three counts of rape and one of sexually assaulting the girl at an address in West Sussex, all of which he denies.

He appeared at Lewes Crown Court on Thursday to hear that his trial is scheduled for October.

The court was told that Price, who was married to Hayler when the alleged offences took place, will give evidence at the trial.

Hayler is charged with raping the girl on three occasions and one count of sexual assault.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between June and October 2016.

Police said that the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has received support from specially trained officers.

The girl is not a member of Hayler or Price's extended families.

Hayler has been released on bail until the trial.
