President Trump confirmed plans to sign a new framework for a peace deal with Iran on Sunday.

“The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow,” Trump wrote Saturday afternoon on Truth Social, adding, “Our relationship with Iran is a much different and better one than previous Administrations have had.”

“Hopefully, this process will all work out quickly, easily, and smoothly,” he continued later in the post. “If it doesn’t, we have the ultimate alternative, hopefully never to be used again!”

The president also said the Strait of Hormuz — a major oil shipping corridor that has been closed during this conflict — would be reopened “immediately” following the signing of this agreement.

His post follows an announcement from Pakistan, which has been mediating these talks, that an agreement would be finalized “in the next 24 hours.”

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Shari said earlier on Saturday that his nation is preparing for an electric signing of the agreement. After it is signed, he noted that “technical level talks” will begin next week.

“We are confident that this historic peace deal will form a strong foundation for lasting peace,” Sharif wrote.

The timeline shared by Sharif and Trump differs from a statement provided by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei to state media. Baghaei told Iran’s Tasnim News Agency on Saturday that the signing will “not be tomorrow.”

“The possibility that it will happen in the coming days is not ruled out,” Baghaei said, according to Reuters. “However, due to the other party’s instability, we must be cautious about any statements regarding this process.”

Trump also trashed the Iran nuclear agreement brokered under former President Obama, called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), claiming it was “an easy, beautiful, smooth road to a Nuclear Weapon.”

“My Agreement with Iran is the exact opposite, A WALL TO NO NUCLEAR WEAPON!” he wrote online, claiming Tehran “no longer want[s] a Nuclear Weapon.”

The president emphasized that “no money will exchange hands” as part of this deal with Iran, following leaked reports from Tehran officials to media outlets that the agreement included provisions for a rebuilding fund for the country.

“At the appropriate time, when all is calm, we will go in and get the Nuclear Dust, buried deep under the powerful sunken granite mountains, thanks to our beautiful B-2 Bombers and their brilliant pilots, and downblend and destroy it, whether in Iran, or the United States,” Trump continued.

He added, “We look forward to working with Iran, and the entire Middle East, long into the future.”
