Michael Moore, the Oscar-winning filmmaker, said Tuesday he would get on his “knees and beg” for progressives to overtake establishment Democrats, starting with an Abdul El-Sayed victory in Michigan’s Democratic primary for U.S. Senate.

El-Sayed eventually beat moderate Haley Stevens; Moore got what he wanted.

In a rambling interview with CNN’s Laura Coates, Moore blasted former President Joe Biden and Vice President-turned-presidential nominee Kamala Harris for often supporting Israel’s war in Gaza.

Moore said the choice cost Harris young voters in general and the Arab and Muslim vote in Michigan. He claimed El-Sayed would “absolutely” win for senator in a general election and help stop Trump from illegally seeking a third term, which Moore insisted is still on his mind.

“It’s time we started winning,” Moore said.

When Coates asked in roundabout fashion whether progressives need to overrun establishment pols, Moore revved up.

“If I could get on my knees and beg, it would be for exactly what you just said, because we are not going to win the other way,” he replied. “We lost that way. ... We are in charge of this, and we need to get busy right now.”

He pivoted back to El-Sayed, saying, “We would be so lucky if he were our senator representing us and standing up for the people who are dying [in Gaza]. Dying every day over there. .. but that’s all up to us. I will not support hacks, hacks in the Democratic Party who have led us to this Waterloo, and we all need to commit to that.”

He continued, “This will not stand. This will not continue. The youth of America are going to rise up. They’re going to get more involved.’”

El-Sayed has called Israel’s war in Gaza, which was prompted by the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel, a “genocide” and supports a halt on military funding for Israel.

Israel’s participation with President Donald Trump in attacking Iran has further eroded support for the Mideast nation from Democrats.
