CNN commentator Scott Jennings, who is one of President Donald Trump’s biggest defenders, on Monday tried to knock Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) for a comment he made about White House aide Natalie Harp.

But given the president’s own history, it didn’t go well.

Ossoff made an offhand reference to Harp ― who is nearly always by Trump’s side ― as he described how the president wasn’t up to the task of leading the country.

“He doesn’t want to do the job,” Ossoff said on Sunday. “He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.”

The White House threw a fit over the reference to Harp, an aide so devoted to Trump that she reportedly leaves him notes with sentiments like, “You are all that matters to me.” Many on the right, including Jennings, also claimed the comment was sexist.

“This is quite a message for the Democratic Party to send to young women working in politics,” Jennings wrote on X. “Party of women? Pretty ugly stuff.”

He also called Ossoff a “coward” when he defended the line.

“Own your sexist joke, bro,” Jennings wrote.

Trump has a long and well-documented history of sexist comments and behavior, from the infamous “Access Hollywood” tape where he said “grab ’em by the pussy” to his misogynistic attacks on the female reporters around him. He tried to silence Bloomberg’s Catherine Lucey by saying, “Quiet, piggy!” He asked Nancy Cordes of CBS News if she’s “a stupid person.” He has called Katie Rogers of The New York Times “ugly,” and has chastised CNN’s Kaitlan Collins for not smiling.

Trump was also ordered to pay $5 million to writer E. Jean Carroll after a jury found him liable for sexual abuse and later defaming her.

In addition, Trump was famously friends with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein until the two reportedly had a falling out over real estate in 2004.

Given that background, critics provided Jennings with a blunt history lesson:

“Quiet, piggy”Somehow I don’t think you gave af about Trump being openly misogynistic cuz a woman asked him a question he didn’t like. But you’ll screech and holler like a hit dog over this. Ossoff gave no innuendoes, and implied nothing. Lick those boots, it’s your favorite…

Pussy-grabber-in-chief defender and propagandist has something to say about messages we should be sending to women https://t.co/li8WBGmmlR

Now do Max Miller, Cory Mills, Scott DeJardais, or, ya know, Donald Trump. You sound like a damn fool.

Yeah it is a message. The future of the Dem party doesn’t want pedophiles near young women: Hope that helps. https://t.co/OcNxyXbGau

Donald Trump has been credibly accused of sexual assault/harassment by dozens of women, found liable of sexual assualt by a jury, bragged about grabbing girls by the pussy against their will, & covered up the Epstein files. Spare us the crocodile tears. https://t.co/v5F42uQwRl
