Stop falling for fads that leave you sad, and grab these products that’ll give you real results.

I am a contributor and former BuzzFeed Shopping writer based in Cincinnati, OH where you can find me curating lists on ~a little bit of everything~ (and adding a few things to my own cart in the process).

Promising reviews: "I saw a review of this on TikTok, but never thought that I would love this product as much as I do. I actually bought another because I can’t get my daughters to stop using it. Smells great, no color transfer on clothing, and goes on perfectly." —Suzette Beristain

"I hate self-tanner. It stinks. It’s streaky and messy and unnatural and fades unevenly. Ugh. But this? Chef’s kiss! The spritz is light and refreshing, and you get a subtle glow WITHOUT THE STINK. The product feels lightly moisturizing, too. I have sensitive skin, and this mist is not irritating at all. I actually want to use this product. I am absolutely buying this again and investigating their full product line." —CaboChica99

Check out a TikTok of the E.l.f. tubing mascara in action.

BuzzFeed writer Emma Lord says, "I am not a new human to the tubing mascara game, and in fact readily spent $26 on the famous OG blend from Blinc every time it needed replacing. I didn't even love it for the length half as much as the fact that tubing mascara like this genuinely never smudges, but can I just say — regardless of price, the E.l.f. tubing mascara formula blows all the others I've tried out of the water. It gives me way more length and volume than other brands, slides on so much more easily, stays put ALL day, and never, ever smudges. My favorite part, though, is how gently and easily it comes off with soap and water. In the past, other mascara removals have felt rough on my lashes, but this comes off so fast that I'm like ??? was I even wearing mascara a minute ago?? Anyway, I hesitate even writing this review because I want to gatekeep the hell out of this before it sells out, but the world needed to know. I'm a big fan of the brown shade (which is what I'm wearing above!), but it also comes in black and soft black."

Promising reviews: "I’ve tried numerous products for taming baby hairs, especially post-partum, and this is hands down the best thing I’ve tried. It also smells incredible! Love the size of the styling wand!" —Completely happy customer!

"LOVE!!! It doesn't make hair greasy, it gets rid of my super frizzy hair, and smooths it down. Easily applied, and the applicator is super functional. I love and will definitely buy again for the price! Super good look to it." —Devon Reid

This kit comes with the spray and four razors.

Promising review: "The power of the hair identifier's spray is unmatchable. Once you spray in any direction that has hair, it automatically identifies the hair that needs to be removed. It is easily sprayed on and easily wiped off. No extra residue. Comes with four blades, and I say these blades are soft, gentle, and yet get the job done. Not sure why no one ever thought of coming up with a hair identifier spray. Great value and smells like baby powder. Great quality." —Karine

Get it from Amazon for $8.54+ (available in three scents).

Check out a TikTok of the Briotech spray in action.

Promising review: "This spray is amazing. I had a rash on my face and it disappeared after one use of this spray. I had a stye in my eye and the skin around the eye was irritated. This spray fixed not only the irritation but the stye went away as well. Any sort of blemish or acne is taken care of with this simple inexpensive spray. Great for after-sun care or workout redness. Everyone loves Tower 28's expensive SOS spray. The SOS spray contains hypochlorous acid, which is the exact same ingredient in the Briotech spray for much less money. It’s a miracle worker." —Squid466

Get it from Amazon for $8.01+ (available in three sizes and in multipacks).

Promising review: “If you’re someone who has always struggled to find a deodorant that truly works, and you’re reading these reviews in hopes of a real, honest opinion, let me tell you — this product is absolutely amazing. I have struggled for so long to find an antiperspirant that actually stops sweat and odor. I’ve even tried men’s antiperspirants, and nothing ever worked for me. This, though, is a game changer. There’s no smell, it keeps me dry — yesterday, I wore a sports shirt, which usually stinks by the end of the day — and it didn’t. I couldn’t believe it; I kept sniffing it all day. No odor, no wetness — this is a must-buy. Go get it now!” —KARINA LOPEZ

Jerome Alexander is a small business that specializes in airbrush cosmetic products.

BuzzFeed Shopping writer Emma Lord has this and says, "HELLO — I found this through a recommendation on a Reddit beauty forum for people in their thirties, and I am OBSESSED. I am not very skilled with makeup and was intimidated by the brush factor, but it's nearly foolproof. This foundation straight-up glosses over my pores and redness and makes my skin look so even-toned and natural that it doesn't look like I used much foundation at all. It's a bit pricey compared to brands I used in the past, but I'm still on my first bottle of it, and it's been three full months. I hope this never stops getting made. It is so lightweight and lovely and has made my makeup routine feel like a TREAT."

Promising review: "Bought this because I saw it on TikTok, and it did not disappoint. I love the lightweight feel of it and how easy it is to build." —Smickens

Londontown is a small business that specializes in nail care products.

Check out a TikTok of the nail veil in action.

Promising review: "This nail veil is so pretty and perfect for a simple, bare nail look! It applies very smoothly, and one to two coats work well. With a top coat, it lasts almost perfectly for about five days, but chips are not very noticeable, so you can easily wear it for longer! I also feel confident in this brand's use of healthier, higher-quality ingredients, which makes it well worth the extra cost. My nails aren't left damaged by this product, and it has become my go-to when I don't have the time for a full-color look but still want my nails to look polished and pretty!" —Sofia K

Get it from Amazon for $18.20+ (available in 11 shades and a two-pack).

Promising review: "The best coverage EVER!!!! I swear by this concealer! It feels heavy when you start to apply, but it’s good once you blend it into your skin. It’s a true matte concealer and dries fast, so you have to blend quickly or apply and blend as you go. This concealer can be used as a quick coverage in various parts of your skin and looks like a full face because of how well it covers and blends. Find your shade and BUY!!!!!!!! They are hard to find in stores, so I come here to purchase." —Dee S.

Get it from Amazon for $6.57+ (available in 10 shades).

Promising review: "I was skeptical about whether the plane would truly exfoliate, but the proof is in the cloth, and how my skin feels afterward. This blunt, smooth, and soothing plane really does gently remove your dead skin — so different from abrasive scrubs or cloths. It is also detoxifying in that it doubles as lymphatic drainage." —glenna s.

Promising review: "This moisturizer is one of the nicest feeling moisturizers ever. The appearance of the vitamin C capsules inside the gel goop on TikTok enticed me to purchase them for myself. This moisturizer has a gel-like consistency and comes with a scooper, making it very easy to apply. You get a decent-sized jar of moisturizer for the price, and the moisturizer is pretty thick. Although it is sticky, I would say it absorbs into your skin pretty quickly. It may leave a slight sticky residue behind, but I think overall it is amazing for all skin types. After using this in the a.m. before sunscreen, I noticed my skin really glowed and felt smooth! I had gifted a jar to my 60-year-old mother, and she had told me how her skin felt like a baby’s bum the next morning!" —tracey + kiwi

For best results, the brand recommends stretching your skin with one hand, laying the blade flat, and then shaving against the grain.

Promising review: "I tell everyone about this! No nicks, cuts, or razor bumps! The battery life is surprisingly long, too! I use this ALL over my body. Trust me when I tell you it saves you time and pain compared to a normal razor!! Seriously, never going back to a plastic one after this!" —Holly

Danessa Myricks Beauty is a Black woman-owned biz dedicated to creating "a world of beauty for people from all races, ages, and genders." FYI, this product is cruelty-free!

Promising review: "This is my first time trying this product, and I absolutely love it. It is transfer-proof, and the color is very vibrant. I used it as a lipstick, eyeliner, and eyeshadow. I have combination skin, and I have to say I’m pleased with the wearability of this product. Upon applying it, it feels like a cream, but once it dries, it becomes weightless and matte. I really loved this product because I could barely tell I was wearing anything on my face. Usually, I have a hard time finding products that are genuinely transfer-proof, smudge-proof, and weightless. I am so happy I stumbled upon this product. I also have to say that it’s pretty easy to take off as well, depending on what products you use. I used the Garnier waterproof micellar water, and with a few swipes, there was very little smudging, and the product came right off." —whailey

Get it from Sephora for $22 (available in 44 colors and three finishes).

Joesoef Skin Care is a small business that specializes in anti-acne skincare products.

Promising reviews: "I’m upset that I only found this recently. I have oily skin and adult acne. This immediately clears my bacne (back acne) up. My pores look smaller, and my skin is so clear! I love it." —Amazonian

"I recently saw a dermatologist talk about those clogged pores on and around your nose. If they are of uniform size, they aren't blackheads. She suggested using a sulfur soap to get rid of or minimize those stubborn clogged pores. This has a slight sulfur smell; it is not overwhelming, and it disappears when dried. It works! My pores are much smaller. After applying and drying, moisturize." —Sandy G

Most reviewers recommend doing this treatment once per week.

Promising review: "Caught wind of this on TikTok and decided to give it a whirl. Honestly, it’s pretty solid! It really makes my skin look tight and shiny, like I just came out of a professional facial. It’s an overnight mask, so yeah, it does have to stay on for a while, which is a bit of a hassle, but the payoff? Totally worth it. My skin feels more elastic, and the pores look minimized, too. If you don’t mind the long wear time, this mask could be a game changer for your skincare routine!" —Nala

Easy to use, quick-drying, GREAT PRICE!! Like, how can you beat that value? The size you get for the price is really unmatched. The glue removal is pretty easy. If I plan on reusing the press-ons, I’ll soak them in water and soap and pop them off. If not, I’ll cut and shave down the nails and soak in acetone until it dissolves the nails enough for me to use my drill." —Big Ming

Plus! Reviewers compare this to the $46 Gisou hair oil!

Promising review: "Literally, the best hair product you can possibly get that is affordable and doesn’t leave your hair greasy — it makes it shiny and super soft. After I get out of the shower, when my hair is still damp, I put some on my ends and work the rest up into the top of my head. Sometimes I blow my hair dry after I get out of the shower and put it on, and then after I blow dry it, I put it on some more, and it looks absolutely beautiful — no greasy hair here. My hair type is fine and gets oily really fast, and yet somehow this product tames it a bit and keeps it looking nourished for days! Will purchase again and again!!!" —Tara Klein

Check out a TikTok of the eye drops in action.

Promising review: "I have a big spot of blood vessels in the inner corner of my left eye. I use the expensive lubricant eye drops for moisture — I've used Visine, Clear Eyes, you name it. "This product is a lifesaver, simply amazing!! My before picture (above) is from two months ago without using Tend Skin after shaving. That’s how bad my thighs used to get two to three days after shaving. I used to cry so much because EVERYTHING hurt my thighs, including my silk covers. My after picture is from two months later. As you can see it’s a tremendous difference. Although I still have scars, my shaving doesn’t bring tears to my eyes anymore. It’s helped with razor bumps, ingrown hairs, dark spots, and my sensitivity to denim." —Kim
