“You didn’t owe me anything, you just chose to show kindness to a stranger.” Thank you for everything @Olivia Rodrigo @allison kuch @ophelia 🦋 @ParisHilton @West Wilson #fyp #bama #oliviarodrigo #contentcreator Jamie has since graduated and now works as an academic advisor at the University of Alabama. "I was just a girl trying to figure things out, and I hoped that when I was sharing my life, someone felt less alone," she shared in one life update. Jamie originally kept the sweet gesture to herself because she "didn’t want something that meant so much to become a public spectacle." But now that she’s officially graduated, she's decided it's finally time to share the story. It all started when Jamie, a "first-generation student," got candid on TikTok about struggling to pay for her final semester. And while she made it clear she wasn’t "asking people to pay for it or for pity," she soon found a very unexpected DM waiting in her inbox, from the "Good 4 U" singer herself. Screenshots from April 2025 seemingly show Rodrigo contributing $5,000. In her first message, the singer wrote: "hi girl! I know you don’t know me but I love your videos so much. You seem like the kindest coolest gal and you are such a source of positivity and light in my life! I watched ur last vid about tuition and i’d love to help out if you were at all open to that? so cool that you are so close to graduating! do you have a Venmo I could send to?” Another exchange shows a member of Rodrigo's team setting up the transfer. Rodrigo wasn’t the only familiar name to play a part in Jamie’s college journey. She also gave a shout-out to celebrities including Paris Hilton, West Wilson, and TikTok personality Ophelia Nichols (Mama Tot) for showing her support along the way.
