President Trump on Wednesday celebrated the loss of Alex Vindman in the Senate Democratic primary in Florida.

"The most gratifying loss last night was that of a real treasonous creep, Alexander Vindman, to a Radical Left Lunatic, who can't speak or think properly," Trump wrote on Truth Social, referring to Florida state Rep. Angie Nixon (D), who defeated Vindman by more than 12 points on Tuesday.

Vindman, a retired Army lieutenant colonel and former director of European affairs for the National Security Council, rose to national prominence as a witness during Trump's first impeachment trial.

Vindman testified to Congress about his concerns regarding Trump pressing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate former President Biden. Trump claimed his request to Zelensky was part of a "perfect" call, a defense he again brought up on Wednesday.

"Vindman, if you remember, was the one who lied about my 'Perfect Call' with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine, only to find out that the conversation was routinely recorded and proved that I was 100% in the right (Completely Innocent!)," the president added.

Trump also wrote Vindman, the twin brother of Rep. Eugene Vindman (D-Va.), "should be prosecuted" for his testimony. The Senate acquitted the president on both articles of impeachment, the first of Trump's two impeachment trials overseen by the upper chamber.

As for Nixon, the president wrote she will "go down to certain defeat" to GOP Sen. Ashley Moody (Fla.), whom Trump called "truly Fantastic."

Moody, whom Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) appointed to succeed Secretary of State Marco Rubio, will face Nixon in a special election to determine who will serve the remaining two years of Rubio's term.

Nixon, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, defeated Vindman despite a significant fundraising disadvantage. As of July 29, Nixon's campaign had less than $265,000 on hand, while Vindman's had more than $7.2 million, according to the Federal Election Commission.

With the Moody-Nixon match-up set, election handicapper Sabato's Crystal Ball shifted the race to the right on Wednesday — from "likely Republican" to "safely Republican."
