Read More Because maybe you (and your budget) aren’t ready to part ways with your extremely comfy couch. As a Deputy Editorial Director for BuzzFeed’s shopping team, I love to get into the weeds of why a product’s worth the money by deep diving into customer reviews, and product-testing as much as possible. Finding THE perfect fitting pair of jeans or a runner for your hallway that just really pulls the space together, only for someone to spill red wine all over either (or both...maybe it was a BIG spill) can be devastating. But a spill like that or other little mishaps don't mean that you've gotta let go of them. Here, I gathered up solutions for fixing stained, broken, or just not-functioning-like-they-used-to problems to help you repair your stuff and move on with your life (with your fave things still in said life). It comes with everything you need to install the screen, including cleaning wipes and dust-removing stickers. And when the protector catches your phone's fall and cracks (as seen above), it does a good job of staying put until you need to remove it. This is one of the first things I started buying consistently after joining the BuzzFeed Shopping team thanks to compelling Amazon reviews, and I swear by it now. Promising review: "Today my daughter SLAMMED my truck door shut and it bounced back open. She looked down, and her phone was what stopped it from closing. She picked it up, and the bottom corner was shattered. We took the screen protector off, and her screen was perfectly fine. To say I’m SHOCKED that the phone was still in one piece would be an understatement. 1000% recommend!!!" —Debra J Get a three-pack for the iPhone 15 Pro Max from Amazon for $7.98 (available in basically every other phone size ever). Promising review: "Cleaned three items in less than five minutes. Vacuum brush head and two hair brushes that have three girls' long hair. I can’t wait to get the whole vacuum and rug cleaner bristles cleaned. I had to write this review after testing it out. Design is strong, sturdy, and handles great. Highly recommended." —Rob When I moved into my rental apartment years ago it came with a fridge with some stuck-on magnets I couldn't scrape off with my finger (and thus, ruined a manicure). My mom rec'd this stuff and it got rid of the mess easy-peasy. Since then I've rec'd it to a friend to successfully remove stickers from garage door windows. Note that this is flammable and you need just a drop or two! Promising review (for the laptop): "Updating my grandson's laptop that was covered in stickers. Peeled most of them off but was left with heavy sticky residue. After just a couple of applications of Goo Gone the laptop lid looked like new and smooth as glass." —RodH Promising review (for the speakers): "I used this on my JBL LSR4236P Studio Monitors, and it worked very well. For some reason, JBL decided to put some kind of weird adhesive on the front of these monitors, which caught every piece of cat hair and dust that touched it over the years. Used this with some paper towels and a little elbow grease and the adhesive came off quickly. The Picture I added: (Left) After Goo Gone (RIGHT) Before Goo Gone." —Andrew Promising review (for lots of other things): "I use it frequently to remove ultra-sticky labels from second-hand electronics and video games, and to remove other sticky gunk from them. Just a few drops go a long way, allowing me to restore these devices to their retro glory. Even new item price tags and labels can be hard to remove, sometimes leaving behind a messy residue, and without this stuff sometimes they get damaged trying to scrape the gunk off. With a drop or two of Goo Gone and letting it sit for a bit, this stuff always comes off extremely easily without marring the surface. One bottle lasts a long time." —Barefoot Birdie Get it from Amazon for $6.99+ (available in different sizes). It can be used on leather shoes, accessories, interiors, furniture, upholstery, saddles, jackets, and tack. Promising review: "I use this for my everyday boots as well as my dress shoes. I'm not always gentle with my boots and I thought I had ruined them the other day (worn out color, scuffs all over), but I cleaned the muck off, gave them a brushing, then applied this leather honey, and after letting it sit, my boots look almost like the day I bought them! It keeps the leather supple and restores color. You only need to use a small amount per use!" —David Horning Get it from Amazon for $18.99+ (available in three sizes; clip the coupon for this price). This also works on Durablend, vinyl, compound, saffiano, faux leather, and other leather or leather-like surfaces. Promising review: "Was skeptical using this product on my favorite Celine bag, so I tested it out on a stain on the bottom of my bag just in case something bad happened. It quickly removed that stain and I continued to use the spray on a stain I got from my black jeans. Like magic, the stain was gone, and my bag has been restored! Would definitely recommend!" —Sarah P. It's great for leather furniture, car interiors, shoes, bags, and more! Note: Furniture Clinic (the maker of this product) recommends testing to see if your leather is absorbent before using this product by seeing if a drop of water will soak into the undamaged part of the leather. If the water is able to soak in, use this balm! If it cannot soak in, they recommend using their leather repair paint instead. Promising review: "The sofa in the pictures [above] is 10 years old and well used. My wife and I could not believe the results after using the balm. Really got rid of the cracks. Amazing stuff. Highly recommend it. The two pictures are before and after using the product on one arm of the sofa. Match the color, and it is magic!" —Loyal Amazon Customer Get it from Amazon for $24.94+ (available in 16 colors and two kits). Promising review: "I love WD-40 products and use them for everything. I spray on shovels to keep dirt or snow from sticking, spray around windows and thresholds to deter bugs, clean Sharpies off wood and walls, and, of course, stop squeaky doors. These small direct-point application pens are great. Keep one in the glove box, my kitchen 'junk' drawer, and the house toolbox." —BBP623 Get a three-pack from Amazon for $12.49. Just make sure that the paint is a match! Promising review: "Rather than ditching furniture into a landfill, which is bad for the environment and one's pocketbook, this product allows you to give new life to existing furniture. Between the Soto touchup and new handles, my entertainment center looks like new....for less than $35. If you can use liquid paper, you can use this. I just ordered another bottle for porcelain. This is a fantastic product. You will love it!" —LexiNYC Get it from Amazon for $18.95 (available in six colors). Promising review: "Love this stuff! My stove had two chips in it for many years. Very pleased, so easy to apply! Would definitely recommend for small touch-ups!" —Sally Jo Get it from Amazon for $6.29+ (available in four colors and in multipacks). Airsquares is a small biz specializing in this product. And yes, you can use them on other ear buds, not just AirPods! Promising review: "I never usually write reviews but this is an exception. I've had my AirPods for over a year and when the sound quality was diminishing, I was afraid they had a short life expectancy and I would need to get a new pair! Even after using cotton buds to clean the AirPods out, I thought that was enough until my friend said there's stuff built up and hard to see, but there was nothing able to get it out! Enter this product — it literally took five minutes to clean each ear bud effectively and instantly the sound quality was as good as new! Loud, clear, less trouble connecting to my phone, etc. I really suggest giving this product. You don't need a full square to clean them, so you can pull a piece off or reuse a square with a side you haven't used! SO happy I found a solution!" —Amazon Customer Promising review: "Seems silly but 100% worth the buy. I fly A LOT, and I am always too afraid to wear my AirPods on flights because I’ve dropped one under the seat a couple of times while sleeping or just moving around. This product is great — keeps my AirPods from falling, and I can confidently nap on flights without losing a pod. Highly recommend!" —Amazon Customer Get it from Amazon for $10.99 (available in 18 styles). Promising review: "Pricey but worth it! My patio cushion covers would have cost a fortune to replace, given their unique shape. This is the ONLY fabric spray that has EVER held true to its promise of preserving the fabric’s original soft texture. Shake Suddenly Sapphire well, it will need at least three coats for an even application because it comes out very fine. Example: I needed one whole can for the first coat on the tops and sides of two cushions. At $14 a can, it can get up there, but it’s still better than replacing cushions!" —Juanita Get it from The Home Depot for $9.98 (available in eight colors). Each kit includes an ultra-soft velvet record brush, bottle of cleaning liquid, stylus brush, and a storage pouch Promising review: "I've cleaned a dozen or so records with this and love it! The wood handle brush works great. It takes just two sprays of the spray to clean an entire side, and it cleans well. I recommend this for anyone that wants to preserve their collection and protect their stylus." —BobbyD87 Also check out some outer sleeves for your records to keep the outer record sleeves pristine, too! Reviewers have use it on their clippers, laptop fans, a garage door opener chain, snow blower parts, restoring old record players, suspension rod points in a washer, recliner parts, a car sunroof, and more. Just make sure that it's OK to use on whatever you're using. Promising review: "I use this on our garage door that gets a lot of wear and tear (upper Midwest winters and three active kids). It keeps the rails lubricated so the door runs smoothly." —Amazon Customer Promising review: "Do you see that??? My husband was so mad and has said for years that our front doors are ruined by the dogs. I was so determined to prove him wrong and find a way to fix them!! Okay, so after wiping down the doors with a wood cleaner, I used an old sock to coat them with the Old English, and voila!! I saved us thousands of dollars!!! No new doors needed!! The scratches have disappeared, and the dogs get to stay!!" —Beth Young Get it from Amazon for $4.82 (also available for light woods). I used this gadget to de-fuzz a coat that I FORGOT isn't mean to be fuzzy. You can read my full fabric shaver review here. Promising review: "Literally stopped mid-use to write this review. I never write reviews, but just wanted everyone who has cats to know that you can save your furniture! This thing is awesome!" —Melanie Abrams Get it from Amazon for $9.69+ (available in six colors). Promising review: "Did an amazing job on white Crocs!" —Suzanne S. Promising review: "Bought these for my pregnancy based on a tip from a recently pregnant friend. Total game changer. Only had to buy a new size bra once, and then used these for the rest of my pregnancy, as my cup size didn't change anymore, but omg my ribcage just kept on expanding and expanding to accommodate the baby. IMO, these make wearing a regular bra possible during those body-changing portions of pregnancy, saving me money in the long run. Additionally, they work as expected...they clip onto the original spacers easily, they match up with the original hooks really well, and they are very comfortable and easy to use. Best $6 I've ever spent on Amazon. Buy them, you won't regret it." —K Get a pack of three from Amazon for $6.99+ (available in four colors and various packs). Promising review: "Okay, so these cleaner pods are awesome! I didn't know how gross our Keurig was until today. The big mason jar on the left is when I actually ran the cleaner through plus one rinse cycle. The middle one is another rinse cycle and the last one, on the right, is the last one I did. So yes, I would suggest running two or three rinse cycles instead of the recommended one. But it's still an awesome product for the price! I have a Keurig 2.0 and I had no issues." —Mads0421 Get a pack of six from Amazon for $9.95. Promising review: "Unbelievable! My daughter just moved into her first home. She thought she would have to paint her brick fireplace because of the heavy soot stains that had been there for years. We applied the product twice and put in a whole lot of elbow grease, but what a difference! It’s a messy process, but well worth the time and energy." —MM Promising review: "I have never been so excited about a slipcover. Total transformation of our couch and loveseat. I was worried about it not working on our leather couch, but it stays on really well due to the straps and the separate cushion covers. LOVE." —Brian/Liz Get it from Amazon for $42.92+ (available in five sizes and ten colors). Promising review: "Before and after putting it on. I couldn’t be happier. This chair has been through and lot and I just wasn’t ready to pry with it. The cover was easy to put in and so soft." —Amazon Customer Get it from Amazon for $19.99+ (available in 19 solid colors). Promising review: "These arrived yesterday and they was so easy for me to put on. Only took about 10 minutes for six chairs. From nasty white chairs to a nice gray and white cover. I LOVE THESE SO MUCH THAT I WILL BIY MORE TO CHANGE OUT MY COLORS FOR CHRISTMAS TIME AND ALL HOLIDAYS. Well worth the price we payed. I’m in love with my new chairs now. IT WAS MY HUSBAND'S IDEA FOR ME TO BUY MORE. ❤️" —lisa browning Get six from Amazon for $34.99+ (available in 35 solid colors and prints). My outdoor patio is a little rough, and it took a full gallon to cover 200 square feet." —RLB Get it from Amazon for $43.81+ a gallon (available in two shades of gray). It has three different brightness options so you can set *~the mood~* perfectly. It also requires AA batteries, so be sure to pick those up as well. Promising review: "This light is great!!! It has three settings, to adjust the amount of brightness you need. Lowest level is great for just sitting around your patio table and having a couple of drinks with friends. Brightest setting is PERFECT for playing cards! We play cards a few times a month. We decided to try and play outside. There are two 70+-year-olds who did not complain that they couldn’t see. So, works great in my book! 😁" —Mandie Jordan Puffer Jacket Repair is a small biz Etsy job specializing in, well, patches for puffer jackets! Get it from Puffer Jacket Repair on Etsy for $11.18 (available in a variety of colors). Promising review: "I’ve used these to touch up our armoire, coffee table, chair and couch legs, kitchen cabinets, bar stools. The variety of colors make it possible to touch up almost anything. I’m not sure what or how to use the wax. The end result isn’t noticeable that it’s been marked up with a marker." —FrankSFO BuzzFeed Shopping editor Jenae Sitzes says: "I've used Ecotools brush cleaning shampoo for years, and it makes cleaning my brushes so much easier. I just add a bit of the shampoo to my brush and gently rub it against a silicone mat under running water, and it makes quick work of removing all the makeup that's built up on my brush for, frankly, way too long. You'll see the water start running brown immediately, which is always super gross but also really satisfying, and once you see your brush return to its original color, you know you're done. And the bristles are always left as soft as before too!" Promising review: "I'm not very good at makeup, but am practicing. I'm also a clean freak so I was able to use just a tiny bit of this cleaner and my brushes come out clean as new." —William M. Buttlicker Promising review: "So I bought this product back in 2023 and put it in my little toolbox and didn’t touch it, eventually forgot about it. Bought it to use on my brass faucet that is an absolute nightmare to clean and keep clean. It’s gorgeous when polished, and I’d used jewelers' sticks to polish it with etc. within the day it was tarnishing. So while looking for another item in my toolbox, I came across this product and decided to give it a try. It was absolutely amazing!!! So much easier than the Dremel polishing tool and a red polish stick. For how long it will last is yet to be seen, I just put it on today so fingers crossed it lasts for me because I was ready to get rid of that faucet set and find another. Mind you, I’ve had this in my house for 25 years and was in the house when I bought it, it stayed looking like the first picture I’m going to post, and drove me crazy!!!🤪" —Nora It's basically really thick foam you can put inside your cushion, under the stuffing. Plus, there's a piece of thin foam that goes near the back of he cushion for extra support. SagsAway is a small biz specializing in these inserts that help revive furniture. Promising review: "The sofas are sturdy and only three years old but several cushions were sagging. I ordered two of the large size for our love seat to try them out. I easily cut an inch off to have it fit with an Exacto knife. Easy to slide in, easy to close with my husband's help. The difference when sitting on the sofa is amazing. Firm and they feel like new cushions. I just ordered three more for the large sofa." —doris Get them on Amazon for $34.99+ per kit (available in two sizes; each kit fixes one cushion). Note that based on the reviews, this tends to work best on poly-filled cushions. As one reviewer noted, it helped some but not as much as expected on their down-filled cushions. Promising review: "We have an older sofa (10 years) that we love, but the middle was sagging. The cushion support board helped tremendously. We are also going to put an extra foam insert in the middle cushion that is also sagging. Altogether, it is much cheaper than getting a new couch, and it is noticeably more comfortable. Very easy to install." —David Rizor Get it from Amazon for $44.99 (available in three sizes). Promising review: "Amodex took ink out of my expensive scrubs. A pen leaked in my pocket and made a thick glob of ink stain on the scrub jacket and a little on the pants. After using the Amodex and washing in cold water, there is no evidence of a stain, and the fabric looks exactly how it looked before the stain. There was no damage or discoloration of the fabric. Thank you, Amodex. This product just saved me the $75 that it would have cost to replace the scrubs." —Michelle hammer Promising review: "It feels like carrying a new purse again! Look at that hardware sparkle! I used a cotton swab to clean the hardware and only used a very small amount at a time, so it did not get into the leather." —Curious007 Reviewers say it also worked great on their Louis Vuitton locks and belt buckles. Promising review: "This totally worked. Been walking on my repaired boot for a month now, and it’s still glued back together. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the glue dries white (not clear), and I had to use a Sharpie so it didn’t look ridiculous. Way better than buying new boots, though!" —Elicia It can remove oil, grease, ink, grass, and blood stains for all my vampires out there. Psst, a few months ago I recommended this to a friend who fell in a puddle of motor oil on a sidewalk, then accidentally wiped it on her camel coat. It got the stains out! Promising review: "So….my son pays no mind to the amount of grease that he is covered in while working in the farm shop!! 🤣😂 I had basically said these jeans are work jeans now!!! I am amazed at how these look after two washes!! If you haven’t ordered it, go do it now!!" —Mommyof20607 Promising review: "What can I say, never sew another button on your pants again, These are sturdy and easy to install. I use them on jeans and I've used them on shorts and khakis, too." —J R It's from a family-run business that specializes in cleaning products, especially ones for homes with pets! Promising review: "After reading the reviews I thought I could at least try it, and holy smokes, this is a miracle cleaner!!! I think I have tried every cleaner on the market for pet stains and nothing ever really works on my carpets. Even if I get it off the top, it somehow comes back up. My crazy dogs hate the rain and they have one spot that they always go on when they decide they are not going outside. I have cleaned the spot probably 100 times. I cleaned this area one time with this cleaner and my spot steam cleaner and it is completely gone! The stain and smell are 100% gone, not just covered up like before, completely and absolutely gone. Miracle cleaner for sure!" —PLLane It has four sides: one to clean heavier scuff marks and stains, one to gently clean fine suede and light scuff marks, one to clean rounded corners, and one to clean hard-to-reach crevices and grooves. Promising review: "I was really sad when I thought my bucks were at the end of their road, because I had always heard that suede couldn't be cleaned. With this brush and a little elbow grease my bucks are looking great again! I didn't use any water or cleaner, I just kept wiping the brush off on my jeans to keep the brush clean, then hit the shoe again with a clean surface. It even brightened the leather up a bit." —Roberto Wine Wash Co. is a woman-owned small biz that specializes in dishwasher attachments. Promising review: "I had a hard time finding wineglass holders for my dishwasher. My previous dishwasher had built-in holders, but my current dishwasher does not. I got tired of having wineglasses break during dishwashing cycles. These holders are sturdy and fit the bill for standard glasses. They can fold up when not in use. I would not use them for expensive Waterford crystal wineglasses, but they are perfect for everyday glasses. A must-have for wine drinkers!" —Alicia Promising review: "This is the definition of 'product you didn't know you needed because you didn't know it existed.' I was FOREVER pulling the wrong chain on our bedroom ceiling fan. (Want the light off? Oh no...now the fan's on high. Need to change the fan speed? Eek...now you're in the dark.) They're much better quality than I expected. They're actually quite heavy-duty pull chains, and they add a bit of fun to the decor." —LHD Get them from Amazon for $5.88+ (available in three finishes and two sizes). Promising review: "This stuff is magic! Works in seconds! I highly, highly recommend." —Diane Harper BuzzFeed Shopping is service journalism first: our writers and editors spend all day shopping so you don’t have to, vetting products, fact-checking brand claims, and surfacing what actually helps in real life.
