Ratko Mladic, ‘Butcher of Bosnia’, dies aged 84 Ratko Mladic, the Bosnian Serb general known as the ‘Butcher of Bosnia’, has died. He was serving a life sentence for crimes including the Srebrenica genocide in which 8,000 Bosniak Muslim boys and men were killed. Mladic also led the four year siege of Sarajevo. Save Share
