You Won't Believe Who JD Vance Is Blaming After Vivek Ramaswamy's Controversial Amy Acton Attack Ad

Vice President JD Vance didn’t condemn Republican Vivek Ramaswamy’s controversial attack ad against Ohio Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton during a Wednesday press conference. No, he actually said he was “disgusted” by the Republicans who objected to it. Earlier this week, Ramaswamy apparently hoped to boost his standing in the polls with an ad featuring Acton’s estranged mother, Donna Arthur, urging voters not to vote for her daughter and branding her a “liar.” The ad doesn’t mention that Arthur married a man charged with sexually abusing Acton as a young girl, then fled the state with him in 1978 before the case could go to trial. Acton and her brother never saw their mom again. Ramaswamy’s ad sparked criticism even among his fellow Republicans, with former U.N. ambassador and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley calling him “a bad guy” and GOP pundit Jason Rantz calling the ad “unbelievably disgusting” on CNN. But one person who seemed to be in Ramaswamy’s corner was Vance, his old pal from Yale Law School. WOW -- Vance *defends* Ramaswamy's reprehensible ad 👇Q: Ramaswamy's campaign put out a controversial ad featuring his opponent's mother. Some Republicans are backing away from that. Do you think that ad was appropriate?JD VANCE: Well, I'll be honest with you. Whether the ad… pic.twitter.com/AgicXxdgtB After a reporter asked Vance for his reaction to Ramaswamy’s ad, the vice president answered, “Well, I’ll be honest with you, whether the ad was appropriate or not is not really my concern.” “What is my concern is who’s going to govern the next generation of American government? Who is gonna win the Senate race in the state of Ohio? Who’s going to win the governor’s race in the state of Ohio?” Vance continued. “I have to admit that I’m a little bit disgusted when I see Republicans across the country who are whining more about that advertisement than they are about what the congressional Democrats and other Democrats want to do to the United States of America,” he added. Vance also defended the ad during a rally in Sharonville, Ohio, complaining that “the media and the Democrats in the state of Ohio are obsessed because, guess what? Vivek Ramaswamy had the audacity to run a TV commercial which calls it out like it is and calls Amy Acton a liar.” JD Vance: "Now the media and the Democrats in the state of Ohio are obsessed because Vivek Ramaswamy had the audacity to run a TV commercial which calls it out like it is and calls Amy Acton a liar" pic.twitter.com/iWKrOKclmW By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
