"After announcing retirement yesterday, I'm excited... more than anything, just show up for friends and family. I ain't been able to do that for a long time, but I'm excited about that." Chris: The biggest difference offensively is that the game is a lot faster, and as you can see. A whole lot of threes being shot. And defensively, guys are super fast. It's not really the big guys in the paint that are, you know [imitates a big man taking up space on the court]. It's a lot faster. When I first came into the league, final scores were in the 80s or even 70s. Now it's 130, 120. Jarred: I would say, you know, believe in yourself. Keep a good circle around you and, you know, just keep pushing. There's gonna be some adversity, persevere through that! Chris: The biggest thing that I was proud of accomplishing is that we're the only professional sports league that has insurance for retired players. So one thing that we always said, you know, for certain is that I don't care how many years you've played in the NBA, whether it's 1, whether it's 21, whatever it is, one thing everybody has in common is that we all will be a retired player at some point. So, being able to do that for the guys who came before us, contracts wouldn't be what they are now without the Oscar Robertsons, without all those people who went before. So, to be able to do health insurance for all the players is huge. Jarred: I would say all the little stuff, toughness, energy, and just doing all the dirty work. I mean, obviously, as you said, we got all three 3 stars. They do all the tough stuff as far as leading us and getting the buckets and stuff like that, but we do all the stuff that doesn't show up on the stat sheet. So it's just the dirty work and being tough, bringing toughness to the team. Jarred: Pretty much all of them! This is a great event here [at the Chase x Freedom Cashback Courts]. I got to come out and socialize, and be around with the people. I want to support my teammate Jaxson Hayes, he's in the dunk contest. Then, obviously, the All-Star Game we got LeBron and Luca participating. Chris: It was, pretty much most of the events that I [participated in and] went to, to tell you the truth. You know we, myself, D Wade, and Melo, do an event that happened last night. Which was really cool, where you really get a chance to get intimate with a lot of other people talking about life, and getting to have a break from basketball for a little while. Karlton: Do you want to be in the dunk contest in the future? We'd love to see that. Jarred: I wouldn't say all of that. I don't know about that. I'm a vet now, I don't know if I still got those young legs (laughs). Chris: You know, I hear a lot of people say "never say never," but right now I enjoy coaching AAU basketball, young kids, and even my own kids. Jarred: I wouldn't say anything in particular. It's more of a lifestyle, you kind of get influenced by a lot of stuff, like even here! [Looks around at the fashion at the event] It's the colorways, the prints and everything, so everything is kind of inspiring in a sense, so it's just incorporating into my own little style. Jarred: Yeah, I got a collab coming with Beyond Meat. Also, we got Paris Fashion Week coming up next summer and, a lot of other stuff in the works as well. So, just be on the lookout, stay tuned. Chris: You know what, after announcing retirement yesterday, I'm excited about the flexibility to do a few things that I would like to do with my production company. I have a snack company, Good Eat'N, and more than anything, just show up for friends and family, you know, I ain't been able to do that for a long time, but I'm excited about that.
