My parents on their wedding day. June 2, 1984.

"And she was correct. I learned a lot from them. I absorbed everything. I went to many concerts and ate at the best restaurants in Los Angeles. BUT, I could only have two, maybe three dates with them. After the third, they had expectations, and I learned to say goodbye on the second date. I told them the truth that I didn't want to waste their money or time. They were always grateful, and we parted on good terms. I always got multiple desserts on these dates. I would take home all the leftovers and wake up my mother. She ate everything while I told her about the restaurant, the people there, and how many waiters served us. Kudos to those men because I flat-out told them, 'May I take a dessert home to my mother?' I did that for about nine years until I met the man I would marry. I have ZERO regrets, I have a lot of knowledge, and I have a lot of stories to tell."
