“Homeschooled children have huge gaps in their learning and are socially stunted. These kids have little tolerance for people unlike themselves because they’ve been kept in a cocoon.”

"All of those things that you mentioned are important life skills for becoming an adult. Adults will have to learn patience to wait in line, and they will have to learn how to navigate a labyrinth of hallways in big buildings without being overwhelmed or getting lost. My friend home-schooled her son, and he was very smart. But she put him in public school in the 4th grade because she had to start working full-time. I babysat him one day, and I asked him how he was adjusting to public school. Although he was a smart kid with an aptitude for reading and math, he was way behind in most life skills. Also, although he was enrolled in a state-approved home-school program, his skill level was one or two grades below the public school level. He said that he had to do a lot of work to catch up to his classmates, but he was glad to have so many new friends."
