The Department of Education deleted a social media post after critics noted that it seemed to compare President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler, dictator of Nazi Germany.

The video edit, posted Wednesday morning, showed a clip from the 2017 film “Darkest Hour” featuring actor Gary Oldman as British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

“You cannot reason with a tiger when your head is in its mouth,” Churchill says. After the Churchill line, the video abruptly cut to a montage of various clips and pictures of Trump.

“No one does it like us,” the Education Department’s caption on the post read, along with a tiger emoji.

X’s community note provided context to the post:

“This clip is from the film ‘Darkest Hour,’ and the ‘tiger’ in this clip refers to Adolf Hitler,” X’s community note under the post said.

In a statement to HuffPost, the Education Department said it was aware of the issue and that it had pulled the clip.

“The video, based on a trending sound on TikTok, was created and posted by an ED staffer who did not understand the context of the video. The Department has removed it from all social media platforms,” an Education Department spokesperson said via email.

Critics were quick to point out the video’s unintentional messaging:
