Travis Kelce is opening up about a phone call that might’ve created some bad blood between Taylor Swift and her new brother-in-law, Jason Kelce.

On the Wednesday episode of the Kelce brothers’ hit podcast, “New Heights,” Travis recalled how Jason brought weights with him on a visit to Kansas City, Missouri. Though Jason is now retired from the NFL, he was lifting for a squat challenge called “Squatober.”

“He actually asked me how much weight I have in my basement,” Travis said. “I didn’t even add it up; I just told him how many plates I had. And he was like, ‘Oh OK, cool, I’ll bring some.’ So he flew to Kansas City with — what was it, 50 pounds?”

Jason shared that he indeed brought two 25-pound weights with him, which Travis called “the most meathead thing” he’s even seen his brother do. But things didn’t end there.

During Jason’s visit, Travis said he got a call from his brother at 7:30 a.m., and his mind instantly went to “worst-case scenario.”

“I’m like, ‘Oh shit. Is everything OK?’” he said, adding that his “brain was just waking up” and he figured his older brother “blew his knee out or something.”

“Jason’s like, ‘Yeah, can you come spot me?’” as the brothers erupted into laughter. “I was just like, ‘No way.’ I got my ankle wrapped. And he’s like, ‘No, no, no, no ― it’s bench, it’s bench. It’s not squat.’ And I’m like, cool, ’cause I wouldn’t be able to save you if it was a fucking back squat. I’m like, ‘Cool, I’ll come down.’”

“I’m walking out of the room, and Taylor’s like, ‘This is fucked up,’” he shared. “And I’m just like, ‘Nah, it’ll be good. It’ll be good!’”

People on X had lots to say about Jason’s bold move:

Jason is gonna hear about this in a song ☝️

jason waking him up at 7:30 in the morning just to spot him is such an older brother move

waking up to your brother demanding a spot at 7:30 am is the most sibling thing ive ever heard and taylor being like this is fucked up is so valid honestly

She has a brother- she’s used to the shenanigans of the male species

Kylie Kelce will take care of this. Watch the full episode below:
