Tropical Storm Vance Is Getting Stronger. The JD Vance Jokes Are Already Category 5.

The name “Vance” made a big splash on Wednesday in more ways than one. First: Vice President JD Vance went viral in the worst possible way by saying he was “disgusted” by Republicans who objected to Vivek Ramaswamy’s attack ad against Dr. Amy Acton, where her long-estranged mother, Donna Arthur, called her own daughter a “liar.” Then the National Hurricane Center announced the name of a new tropical storm in the eastern Pacific: Vance. The Associated Press said Vance ― the storm, not the vice president ― was located about 520 miles (835 kilometers) south of Acapulco, Mexico, and posed no risk to land. However, Accuweather.com predicted that Vance the storm could become a Category 3 storm and bring heavy rain, rough surf and gusty winds to Mexico’s Pacific coast even if it doesn’t hit land. HuffPost reached out to Vance ― the vice president, not the storm ― for comment, but no one immediately responded. Still, the fact that there was a tropical storm that shared the name of the vice president was too tempting for social media users, much like in 2019 when there was a tropical depression named “Karen.” And, yes, many of the comments referenced the 2024 joke meme that falsely claimed he had sex with couches. Thanks for asking. The Vice President is sure trying to distract voters before the mid-terms. https://t.co/QrzD4Q0iOQ Pull out those couches, sit down & track #Vance with us. Vance should intensify due to a pretty decent o ran & upper air environment but as mentioned previously Vance will JD, (Just Deteriorate) from a lot of wind shear. Impacts to #Mexico are uncertain.#tropicswx pic.twitter.com/rAeENMb1ah Hide your couches because Tropical Storm #Vance (#22E) has formed. The environment is favorable for rapid strengthening during the next few days but Vance's elegy will be upstaged by other storms. Vance will likely head for #Mexico in a futile effort to make them pay for a wall. pic.twitter.com/gSF8i3LUQj Can't wait for the gif mash up of tropical storm Vance and the fat boy Vance. Or.... Vance Refrigeration?🤔 pic.twitter.com/OjpgUBG1cU Is the next hurricane called couch by chance?😂 Vance is forecast to strengthen quickly offshore Mexico. That’s unexpected, considering the lack of couches in the tropical eastern Pacific. Surely that’s a favorability requirement that’s lacking. 🤣 pic.twitter.com/UPX0HxMQVW There’s a Tropical Storm “Vance” and I know someone in the National Weather Service is having a laugh. This Vance may not pose a threat, but America has one that does.https://t.co/lPoZh2reqV Say hello to Vance The Vice President will soon become a Major Hurricane 🌀 off the southern coast of Mexico over very warm water. Congratulations! pic.twitter.com/vlLtFRvX6Z Although Donald Trump has recently been arbitrarily renaming landmarks, one person felt obliged to point out that’s not what happened with Tropical Storm Vance. Important to note, that the storm wasn't named after U.S. vice president By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
