Raise your hand if you can never listen to "Mr. Brightside" the same way again.

Warning: This post references abuse, sexual assault, and alcoholism.

"Toxic" is a massive understatement. Stephen is a legit sociopath who should be locked up for many, many reasons. Fun fact, though: The actors are dating in real life, and their offscreen relationship is absolutely adorable!

🚨 Warning: MAJOR spoilers ahead, including for the finale!!! 🚨

I haven't been this gobsmacked since Gossip Girl.

"I think if I get canceled, it will be because of this," creator Meaghan Oppenheimer said of the controversial storyline in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "I pitched it, and it immediately divided the writers' room into two. There were people that were like, 'We have to do that, that’s great.' And then half of the room was like, 'We absolutely cannot do that.' And so I was like: 'This conversation is why we have to do it, because it’s so polarizing.'"

This has to go down as one of the most disturbing television scenes of all time.
