If your toilet bowl has a dark ring worthy of it's own horror movie...trust me, you need to read this *entire* list. Bathrooms are notoriously easy to make filthy but difficult to clean. Between the grout in between tiles and the nooks and crannies behind the toilet, there's *a lot* of places for dirt, rust, and dust to accumulate. Luckily, products like mildew-removing spray, toilet-cleaning wands, and TubShrooms (aka the mighty hair-catcher) exist! Take a peek at these products that make cleaning the hardest room an easy (and non-scary) task. Just apply this to the stained surface with a damp cloth, leaving it untouched for a few minutes (or longer for stubborn buildup). Next, scrub it in using a circular motion and then wipe or rinse it off with water. Promising review: "Wow. Don’t waste your time with any other formulation that you found online. I’ve literally tried EVERYTHING! The soap/vinegar/baking soda, the expensive store-bought 'hard water cleaners.' I’ve scrubbed for HOURS! But this…. This product is like magic. It’s kind of like a paste that you can rub on with a microfiber towel and the hard water stains literally just RUB OFF. Like butter! Seriously, the easiest option I have tried yet. I stopped within the first five minutes of cleaning to do this review because I’m in shock lol. Coming from someone who never writes reviews! Take that as a sign to buy this immediately. What a game changer, I’m mad I’m just now finding this stuff lol!" —_kayla_carter Promising review: "I had tried everything to get the hardware stains off my shower. CLR, metal scrubbing pads, vinegar, and many other things. I thought I'd end up having to replace all the faucets. I saw this in a BuzzFeed article and thought, no way it's THAT good... It's that good. It's better than good. It's wild how good it is. My shower looks better than new. It took rust stains off the tile. It took years of hard water scale buildup off in seconds. It is literally a miracle product." —Amazon Customer Get it from Amazon for $5.97+ (available in three sizes). Blue Poppy Bath is a Wisconsin-based small business that sells all-natural, eco-friendly, handmade products like body lotion, shower steamers, cleaning bombs, and more. Promising reviews: "I saw these recommended on a BuzzFeed. I tried them and as a housecleaner, as a profession, I have not seen anything clean so well and easy. Somehow the toilet even stays cleaner longer!" —Marcie Johnson "Fantastic, quick shipping! These smell wonderful without being overpowering. The fizz is very satisfying, gives you the feeling that it’s working immediately! Leaves the toilet bowl clean, no chemical after smell. Looking forward to ordering more of these and trying the other scents as well!" —Margaret Drost Get it from Blue Poppy Bath on Etsy for $13.50 (available in eight scents). The kit comes with a wand, six refill heads filled with Clorox, and a storage caddy. The wand has a convenient button you can use to dispose of the used sponge heads in the trash, and the heads are uniquely shaped to fit under the rim of your toilet. Promising review: "So, we have a toilet that belongs to the cats. We don't use it, we don't look at it, we like to pretend it does not exist. Even with semi-regular flushing, cat waste is pretty nasty stuff that builds up quickly in the bowl. One of these wands cleaned it up in a single session (pictured above)!" —Whitney Check out a TikTok of the foaming pink drain cleaner in action. Promising review: "Wow! I don't think I've ever been more excited to use a cleaning product before. Who knew you could get so much satisfaction from a drain cleaner. I could probably make an ASMR video and post it, as it is that satisfying! Even though I had to angle this over my sink drain, to avoid the low faucet, it worked perfectly. The foam went down the drain and up through the overflow, bringing lots of black, yucky gunk with it. I have used lots of drain cleaners before, but not one that actually came up through the overflow. I'd never even considered what stuff was in there. It did a great job of cleaning everything out and it left the sink smelling fresh and clean as well." —Amazon Customer Get it from Amazon for $15.98 (also available as a two-pack). Promising review: "I bought this RMR-86 spray with low expectations, even with the good reviews. I sprayed a small patch in the evening and let it sit overnight. The next morning, the grout where I had sprayed was as white as if it were brand new. I decided to spray the entire wall and part of the roof. The next day, everything I sprayed had no visible mold. By the third night, I was pretty much spraying everything left in the shower. This stuff is amazing." —John Werner Get a 32-ounce bottle on Amazon for $15.99 (available in three sizes and multiple quantities). This pad can fit any 10” to 12” microfiber mop, can last up to 100 washes, and works on pretty much any surface, from wood to tile to stone. Turbo Mops is a small business! Promising review: "These are life-changing. I used a Rubbermaid spray mop for years that I never really loved and when it broke I got a Swiffer and was using the old Rubbermaid mop cloth pads with it still. They didn't fit the Swiffer great and I decided to get new ones. These scrub so much better and pick up way more dirt than my other mop pad. I have two dogs and their dried water and drool is around the kitchen and I used to have to scrub to get that up each time. Not with these pads! I never thought I'd swoon over a cleaning product but...here we are :)." —JB Get a pack of two from Amazon for $9.95 (available in multi-packs). Promising review: "I did a lot of research on grout cleaners. I recently purchased a home, and the grout is SO dirty. You wouldn’t even know it was white. I was torn between this product and another with similar ratings. I decided to go with this product, and do not regret it at all. You definitely need gloves, a well-ventilated area, and a stiff scrub brush. It doesn’t require a lot of scrubbing if you have a good brush. Leaving it on the longer end of 5–10 minutes is better. I’m SO impressed." —Lynn Santos Get it from Amazon for $21.95+ (also available with brushes). Promising review: "I only WISH I had waited to use this until I could have taken a 'before' pic to go with the 'after' one of my 14-year-old sink. This cleaner is incredible. My cleaning person came Wednesday, but the sink still looked dingy on Thursday with some persistent areas of discoloration and staining. It gets a lot of hard use. Now, five minutes following application of the product with a sponge, a bit of a scrub, and quick rinse, it looks new. I’ve ordered this for both married kids for stocking stuffers. WORKS as promised. Not kidding. Wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t just done it myself and seen the eye-popping results. Quit reading reviews and BUY this stuff! (Read the cautions carefully regarding what kinds of surfaces are appropriate for use of product and which ones to avoid, but on regular stainless steel sinks, it’s honestly perfect.)" —EdUK8 Get the value size from Amazon for $29.95 or the smaller size for $9.95. Shower Cat is a small business established in 2021 specializing in products to prevent shower clogs. Promising review: "I first saw this product on TikTok and I knew immediately that I needed it. I just moved into a new apartment and I didn’t want to be how I used to be, where I’d just let hair go down the drain and plug it eventually, or peel it off of the drain after each shower. It works great but I probably need some practice with it. I currently just floss my hair through it so it will hold them and there are a few stray hairs that don’t stick. I would recommend to anyone who is tired of putting your loose strands of hair on the shower wall." —Cari Schwartzkopf Get it from Amazon for $14.95 (available in pink and white). Promising review: "This product works beautifully. I tried a lot of products to remove the hard water from my glass shower. I have to admit the first time I used it with a cloth it was not very effective. The second time I used a nonabrasive sponge for glass, it turned out beautiful just like the first day the glass was installed." —EJP Promising review: "I bought this squeegee to replace our old plastic one that was old and warped. I love that this one is much wider than our previous squeegee so it takes less time to clean our glass-enclosed shower. It also has a really nice weight to it. It feels sturdy in your hand and the weight helps to pull it down to the bottom of the glass wall/door. The hanger feels secure and I love having it out of the way (our previous one sat on the shower bench). Happy so far." —shellyrae1 Get it from Amazon for $9.49+ (available in three sizes and four colors). Humble Suds is a woman-owned Etsy shop based in Denver. They sell plant-based cleaning products boasting ingredient lists that never contain more than six ingredients. Promising review: "Already on my second purchase! I love having a safe cleaning product that actually works and cuts down on the daily chemicals we are all exposed to. Love the smell of the grapefruit!...No smudging on windows and that sealed the deal for me. I've got a large front window and two toddlers that like to leave dirty hand marks and nose imprints on it. I couldn't drop the popular brand Windex because nothing else worked without leaving a cloud. I can now say, 'Goodbye ammonia!' Definitely recommend this product!" —rauchm404 Get it from Humble Suds on Etsy for $24.95 (available in grapefruit lemon and three other scents). Promising review: "This works absolutely phenomenally. I would clean the bowl area every weekend like clockwork to remove mold or something…Our municipal water system may not inject enough chlorine to prohibit? But toilet cleaning is a breeze now!!! Works on the Koehler new low flush systems…amazing. No chlorine damage to rubber parts either like other devices! Pretty simple instructions to install." —CdrW Get it from Amazon for $12.96 (and you can snag refill cartridges here). Promising review: "I didn’t have much calcium or other hard mineral deposits in my two toilet tanks. But there was a fair amount of slimy sediment. One treatment cleaned up the tanks about 90%. I ordered another bottle of the cleaner and gave each tank a second treatment. The tanks now look like brand new! The important thing is to give the cleaner enough time to work. I put the cleaner in the tanks before I went to bed so it worked overnight." —Jack It only takes 15 minutes to clean — just run the water, pour it in, and turn the jets on! Oh Yuk is a family-owned small business based in Minnesota that specializes in PhD chemist-formulated cleaning products for home appliances, from dishwashers and washing machines to hot tubs and jetted bathtubs. Promising review: "This stuff is great! We just bought a house, and my hubby cleaned the jetted tub twice with a strong bleach solution. I bought this product based on the reviews and tried it after. Look at the crud that came out of the jets. Now, our tub is all sparkly and clean! 😊" —Becky Get it from Amazon for $15.99+ (available in two sizes). Promising review: "I want to tell you all, this Iron Out gel spray is THE BOMB! I couldn't believe how quickly this started working on my iron-looking surface in the tub and shower. I used a regular scouring pad, and it came clean right away. I have used so many products in the recent months since my hard water stains have become more apparent. Lime away, CLR, other household concoctions — nothing worked. I am very impressed and will definitely spread the word on this stuff." —RichOCPA Get it from Amazon for $5.97 (also available in packs of three and six). Promising review: "These babies have transformed and reformed my slobby life. My dog sitter thought I got a new sink and fridge. I have never had more fun cleaning in my life — wait, I have never had any fun cleaning. But these magical creatures make it so freaking satisfying. No toxic stuff. No fumes. Just heavenly cleanliness. These are also much, much bigger than Magic Erasers. I cut them in half lengthwise, and they are STILL bigger. And they are a ton cheaper. Buy these. I don’t have much of a life, but I finally have a spotless sink." —Jimmy Jim Ereeno Promising review: "This brush comes two in a package. A little smaller than I expected, but good for the job of getting in those grooves that get so funky around the shower. It has a ring to hang from the rack in the shower." —M Waters Get a set of two from Amazon for $5.99 (available in three colors). Promising review: "I never thought I'd be this excited about a clean toilet. I had largely given up on our first-floor toilet. Nothing would take out the ring along the waterline. But I saw this product in a BuzzFeed roundup and figured it was worth a shot. Tried it this morning and oh. my. goodness. It easily took out the ring, and with some harder scrubbing, the rest of the stains/buildup/whatever the term is for the stuff that made the bowl look gross. It looks just about brand new! Definitely worth the purchase." —Courtney It can be used as a handheld brush or you can use the detachable, long-reach handle that extends to 9 feet The double-sided brush can be used wet or dry and is reusable! Just rinse it clean and hang dry between uses. Promising review: "Our screens are on a second-floor balcony. There really isn't any good way to clean the outside of the screens. Luckily, the fibers on this screen cleaner are small enough that they seem to fit through the screen and clean both sides. I'm sure it doesn't clean the outside as well as it does the inside, but any help is always appreciated. I was actually shocked at how much dirt came off of the screens with this very simple tool. I used it wet with a small amount of dish soap, and it worked really well. I also appreciated that after I was finished I was just easily able to rinse and dry the screen cleaner for future use. A simple tool at an excellent price." —BonjourBeautyByAmy Promising review: "Sharing our nasty before picture so you can really see the difference! Our tub/shower has a grippy bottom, and scum and dirt cakes on there so easily. The only way I've been able to get it off before was literally scraping it inch by inch, I've spent hours and all it ever got was somewhat clean — never enough for me to want to take a real bath in it. This stuff is expensive but with the good reviews, I decided to try it. it works amazingly!! I sprayed it on (it came with a great spray nozzle and a lid) and left it for about 15–20 minutes. Then I took a brush with hard plastic bristles (I believe a soft brush would have even worked) and with less than 20 minutes of scrubbing the entire tub and walls, it was cleaner than when we moved in. The grime and scum almost, like, melted off. It smells pleasant, it's not strong smelling but in an enclosed space I still felt the need to wear a mask while cleaning. The before picture is how the tub has looked forever and normally looks if cleaned with any cleaner/brush. The white spot towards the left with the brush next to it is where I tried a little area first. The second picture is after 20 minutes of work and I'm definitely taking a bath instead of a shower tonight!" —Amazon Customer Get it from Amazon $20.98+ (available in two sizes, with and without the spray nozzle). Promising review: "I was skeptical about this little rubber strainer, but I needed something to save my drains from the piles of hair that fall out of my head. This thing is amazing! It fit into my standard drain perfectly, and I don't think a single hair slipped by it. It was pretty gross to see how much hair I lost in just one shower, but it was comforting to know it wasn't clogging my drain. Cleanup is super easy, too. I just took a tissue and wiped it from top to bottom, grabbing all the hair as the soft rubber strainer released it all easily. Not a hair was caught in it. Best strainer I've ever had." —Lawyer For Justice Get it from Amazon for $11.99+ (available in six colors and a pack of two). Also, check out the SinkShroom and the ShowerShroom. Promising review: "When I pulled the orange plastic spiked strip from the package, I was immediately skeptical and felt like all those five-star reviews were from people who exist in an alternate universe. I was tempted to initiate a return on Amazon but decided that I might as well gamble on a piece of $9 plastic before gambling $200 on a plumber. I slipped the plastic strip down my shower drain, and literally FIVE SECONDS LATER, I was pulling up gobs and gobs and gobs of hair. HOLY COW!!!!!!!! OHMYGOSH. I can't believe I still have any hair left on my head. SO MUCH REPULSIVE GUNK!!!! I saved my prize hairball on the shower floor to show my husband because I knew he would be as skeptical as I was. We both agree it looks like a small raccoon or a large squirrel lying helplessly on my shower floor. It's a grisly, messy, smelly, and oh-so-rewarding job." —Chocolate and Chips Get a six-pack from Amazon for $9.99 (available in two colors). OK, so the drill is NOT included. This is just a set of three brushes that attach to your drill, or check out this one you might wanna buy. Useful Products is a US-based small business established in 2007 by car wash owner, electrician, and former bodybuilder Anthony LaPolla that specializes in drill-cleaning brushes and attachments. Promising review: "These brushes, paired with some liquid glass cooktop cleaner, MIRACULOUSLY cleaned soap scum and limescale deposits from the doors. It took a lot of work but these brushes succeeded where everything else failed. My sister thought the doors were frosted glass, that's how bad the buildup was on them. After a weekend's work (with frequent breaks so I wouldn't burn out my husband's DeWalt cordless drill), the results are amazing." —Mary in Nebraska Get it from Amazon for $19.99 (available in six colors).
