‘With All Due Respect...’: Fox Host Tears Into GOP Senator’s Party To His Face

Fox Business host Larry Kudlow on Wednesday took Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) to task, to his face, over what Republicans aren’t doing right now. Kudlow welcomed Tuberville, a staunch supporter of Donald Trump and who is running to be Alabama governor, onto his show and immediately let him have it: “I want to ask you, the socialists are winning, they’re taking over the Democratic Party, the Republicans are doing nothing. I mean, you’ve got stuff out there, the polls are lousy. There’s an economic boom and no one seems to know about it. And today, you had this very important article showing that people are paying more in taxes, they’re spending more on tax payments than on food, clothing and shelter. And the Senate, with all due respect, Senator Tuberville, you’re one of my favorites, as you know, but the U.S. Republican Senate ain’t doing a thing about it.” “I have to agree with you, Larry,” Tuberville replied. “You’re exactly right. We’re getting ready to go on recess,” he acknowledged. “You know, we’re only in two weeks in September. We’re off the whole month of October. I’m with you. We need to give the American people something before the election, or it’s not gonna be good. And that’s gonna have to be reconciliation.” Tuberville blamed Democrats for not allowing Republicans, who control both chambers of Congress, to progress their agenda. And he admitted that the GOP has got to get something Americans can “chew on for the next few months so we can keep the majority up here, but we’re not acting like we’re the majority.” Kudlow, an economic adviser to the White House during Trump’s first term, delivered a similar damning on-air message to Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) last month. He told him “GOP leadership is letting everyone down” and that Republicans are “bungling everything, nothing is getting done, your messaging is nonexistent.” By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
