Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Monday quipped that she "can't remember the last time" she saw someone wear President Trump's trademark MAGA hat. The former lawmaker shared a post on the social platform X showing a billboard that read "Trump Superstore," with an adjacent sign saying that it was "going out of business." "I can't remember the last time I saw someone wearing a maga hat or Trump shirt," she wrote. Greene, who married her husband Brian Glenn in Las Vegas last month, was once one of the president's closest allies in Congress and an outspoken supporter. That support turned to growing criticism last fall ahead of the Trump administration's release of files and documents connected to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Greene was among four Republicans to back a discharge petition to compel a House vote on the Epstein Files Transparency Act, authored by Reps. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and Ro Khanna (D-Calif.). The bill passed the House and Senate, with Trump shortly after signing the bill into law. But the Department of Justice's (DOJ) handling of the document release, along with the redactions throughout the files, stirred outrage from lawmakers including Massie, Khanna and Greene. This, along with Greene's frustration over GOP congressional leadership's handling of the longest government shutdown in modern U.S. history, led to growing criticism of the president before it turned into a feud. Trump soon retaliated, referring to his former ally as "Marjorie Traitor Brown." Greene in November announced she would resign from the House in January, saying she refused to be a "battered wife." She has continued her attacks on the president in the months since her departure, criticizing the impact that the Iran war has had on Americans concerned over the cost of living. "The American people have to open their eyes and deal with reality and deal with truth," she said in an interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones in April. "And the truth is, look, you may have supported President Trump for 10 years, like I did and like you have, but this is not the same man. This is not the same man that we supported."
