‘This Is Pretty Bad’: Sean Hannity Hit With A Humiliating Blast From The Past

Sean Hannity tried to serve as the clean-up crew for Sen. Darline Graham (R-S.C.) on Wednesday after her flop of a debate response on Taiwan this week. But the Fox News host’s take is radically different from the one he gave on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-N.Y.) answer to a similar question in February, a montage shared by MeidasTouch’s Acyn Torabi shows. Graham, the sister of late Sen. Lindsey Graham, who is pushing to fill his seat for an additional six years beyond her interim appointment, acknowledged that “national security was not my thing” when asked if Taiwan and the South China Sea were national security issues for the United States. The Fox News host invited Darline Graham on his program and wondered aloud why people made a “big deal” about her answer. “I’m like, I wonder how many people around the country, if I gave them a map, could pick out Taiwan? I don’t think many. And not just — the whole country, never mind South Carolina,” Hannity argued. That’s a massive pivot from his response to Ocasio-Cortez stumbling when asked at the Munich Security Conference if the U.S. should commit to sending troops to defend Taiwan should China invade it. “Wow, even worse than Hillary [Clinton], though, radical squad leader AOC simply could not answer basic questions about global affairs,” he said. “This is about as close to a Kamala Harris ‘word salad’ as you’ll ever get.” Ocasio-Cortez’s answer to the question was met with criticism from President Donald Trump, who has been mum about Graham’s response earlier this week (he has endorsed the Republican in her bid for a full term). Critics called out Hannity over his double standard, including CNN senior political reporter Aaron Blake, who wrote on X, “This is pretty bad from Hannity.” Hannity on AOC: Wow, she couldn’t answer a question about Taiwan! Hannity on Darline Graham: Why is everyone making a big deal about this question on Taiwan? People can’t event find it on a map! pic.twitter.com/dfD8QK45j5 By entering your email and clicking Sign Up, you're agreeing to let us send you customized marketing messages about us and our advertising partners.
