Trump Branded 'Barely Literate Imbecile' After Yet Another Demand For New Award

President Donald Trump once again whined on Wednesday about not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. This time, however, he added a new award to the ever-growing list of achievements he insists he deserves. “But I didn’t get the Nobel Prize. I didn’t get the Pulitzer. I should have gotten a Pulitzer for writing, too. The people that got it shouldn’t have gotten it, you know? They got a Pulitzer Prize for their accurate and wonderful writing on the subject of Russia, Russia, Russia,” Trump said at a rally in South Carolina on Wednesday while speaking about Stephen Hubbard, the recently released retired American teacher who had been held captive in Russia since 2022. Trump’s mention of Russia also likely stemmed from his ongoing lawsuit against the Pulitzer Prize Board. In 2022, the board defended its decision to award the 2018 Pulitzer Prize in National Reporting to The New York Times and The Washington Post for their reporting on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Before going off on his tangent, Trump also appeared to forget the name of the Nobel Peace Prize, mistakenly calling it the “Pulitzer Prize.” “I settled all these wars, and they gave the wonderful peace prize, right? Does anybody know the name of that peace prize? The peace prize. They gave the Pulitzer Prize to a young lady,” Trump said. Trump: I didn't get the Nobel Prize. I didn't get the Pulitzer. While Trump has published several books, many were co-written with professional authors. Trump’s breakthrough book, “The Art of the Deal,” was released in 1987 but has since been heavily criticized for being largely written by co-author Tony Schwartz. In a 2016 New Yorker article, Schwartz claimed to have written the vast majority of the manuscript with little input from Trump. Schwartz also said that when he sent the manuscript to Trump, it was returned with very few edits. However, he was asked to eliminate criticism of Trump. Schwartz has been a staunch critic of Trump over the years, often lamenting their partnership on the book. “Reality has no meaning to him,” Schwartz said of Trump earlier this year. “Reality is what he makes it in that moment. And in some measure, he believes it. The problem for him right now is most people don’t.” Critics on social media jumped at the opportunity to mock Trump’s assertion that he deserved a Pulitzer Prize. The man treats the English language like a hostage and his sentences need a search party. At this rate, the only prize he's winning is the participation trophy for Most Delusional Man Alive. https://t.co/1LJdl0rvnr The Pulitzer for writing juvenile tweets? https://t.co/PLBcstZ5FX Lolz. Now this barely literate imbecile thinks he deserves a Pulitzer. https://t.co/GgrBeO0vXz lolz. Clearly, someone just told him what a Pulitzer was, so of course, now he’s added it to his list of delusional man-baby grievances. Pulitzers are for people who can finish a sentence without it collapsing under its own weight. Writing “I will try to be good” on a blackboard in third grade doesn’t qualify, and neither does a lifetime of all-caps grievances, run-on tweets, and books that needed ghostwriters… They don’t award the Pulitzer to REMEDIAL individuals..🤷🏽♀️ https://t.co/IxjrbUH0F5 For writing what?
